After reading this thread, I installed iOS 14 on my iPhone 11 Pro Max and iPad Pro 12.9 (2018). A completely different experience than iOS 13 beta 1. It's speedy and stable on both devices. My banking app works fine on both. I haven't run into any of my apps that don't work or crash while using. I am pretty shocked at how fast and smooth it is. When Apple said you can enter text into any field with Apple Pencil, they weren't joking. It works in Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Chrome and other non-Apple apps. I don't have the best handwriting, but its handwriting recognition to text works without a hitch. Widgets NEED to be able to run on iPadOS home screens, can't figure out why Apple would omit this feature, since it can obviously support it. Feedback Assistant should be used to gain this feature. Battery life has been pretty much the same on both devices when running iOS 13.

Ok quick question, I'm about to take the plunge but TD Ameritrade's ThinkorSwim and Chase, PayPal and Venmo are my primary financial and livelihood apps. Do those work?

Chase and PayPal work for me, don't have the others.

Because Apple gives an every other year treatment to iOS and iPad OS as to which gets the best features. They don't like to give both their children all the best toys at the same time.

System wise and stock apps, I would say good enough, expect some bugs but not really a hassle.

but 3rd party apps need update, some overlays of apps went transparent, UI elements not showing etc

So its been a few days now so I can give you my views on beta 1.

Seems really stable, even now. Normally things either start of stable and get more unstable as time goes on, or is just down right unstable from the get go lol. Doesn't feel like a beta 1 to me at all.

Still haven't actually run into ANY app issues as of yet.

Hopefully things only get better from here.

The problem with installing a beta of a major release like this on your primary phone (iPad is another story) is not when you are essentially at home and can restore at almost anytime. The problem is if you are away from home, like in vacation or something and you have to rely on your phone, you don’t want an unknown issue that will break an important thing in your phone like LTE, or even phone call issues that can happen.

For my experience, beta is not worth it on my primary devices when I can easily put them on my iPad and this year there’s not enough new feature to make me want the update so bad.
Yea I had a weird one the morning of day 2. Message stated Cellular Update Failed and I could not use Cellular until it was updated. Fortunately a restart restored cellular, and it didn't happen again.

Chase, Paypal and Venmo work perfectly for me. I don't have the other apps though

Would be really nice if we could dual-boot.

As of now, I’d keep a backup device at the ready if running the first beta on my primary!

Is battery life okay for people? I installed this on an old iPhone and there seems to be some sort of 10-15% overnight drain. I had a smart widget but I'm going to remove it to see if it helps. Other than that, this beta seems pretty solid and debating if I should install on my main device.
