iOS 14 different icon sizes on iPad AND iPhone

I’ve played with wallpaper settings til I am blue in the face, but for me they make no difference.
I had reported this sometime back. The current resolution status on the feedback app says ‘potential fix identified - for a future OS update’.

Groovy icons! Like Mojave on macOS, iPadOS 14 is not displaying icons correctly! Continuity, man.
In folders too:
Totally random. Move apps into folders. Pop! small. Move apps out of folders. Pop! big. And vice versa (and vice versa). Small, big, big small. Bottle, glass; glass, bottle. Maybe it’s a new game for Apple Arcade. How fast can you make all your icons big or small? Picoseconds of pixelated pleasure!
And nope, it’s not just third party apps needing an upgrade from developers. Native Apple apps do it too. But goddam, I’m not fast enough at the game to screenshot one doing it! Oh, missed Photos popping small. Curses!

Couple of restarts and my ipad doesn’t Show this anymore.
Hopefully they permanently fix this soon. Also many glitchy behavior on the widget section.

Yeah. Another thing I can’t get to work is that smart widget rolling thingy (technical jargon, don’t worry if you don’t understand).
Oh yeah, and every time I switch from Pages to my Power Thesaurus app, a little drop down menu drops down saying “Copied from Pages to Power Thesaurus”. Does it in the Gmail app too. What did I copy? I just switched apps.

The smart widget auto flick (smart stack) is based on Siri learning towards your apps usage behavior. So it’ll take sometimes to appear working or it may not working as often as you’d expect.
I don’t use it anyway and opted for it to become “dumb stack” widget so I can manually flick them.
Haven’t experience this on any apps, maybe just another glitch.
It’s a good new feature though, when it’s working properly.
I'm not sure how your icons being slightly different sizes make you ignorant. I think you're being too hard on yourself 🤷♂️
Apple seriously needs to freeze all its software for a solid two years and fix EVERY bug. I don’t care if it’s “cosmetic” or “infrequent”. This **** has to stop. Everywhere I look: bugs. There are still broken UI designs from iOS 7 lurking in iOS 12. I skipped 13. I expect I’ll find them in iOS 14.

Yeah that's not how any software or OS works. If that was the case everyone would still be using Windows 7 LOL. There may be years where they focus more on bugs than features but there will always be forward movement when it comes to how it works.
No software release is ever bug free.
Restarting fixes it yes temporarily....but as soon as you change wallpapers again (or one of apples built in dark mode wallpapers take over), the icons sizes go wild.
whats your secret? Is there some special setting that you might have enabled/disabled?? I would love a workaround since I tend to change wallpapers every week or so.
Sadly, I'm not so sure myself. All i do was restarting couple of times.
The bug sure did annoyed the hell out of me. Even some of the widgets also were different in size sometimes. But I haven't experience any more ever since. I'm still on 14.0 by the way.
Interesting....are you using any of apples wallpapers or are your Home Screen and Lock Screen custom?
