there's so much discussion here of what's wrong, or missing in ios. thought it would be interesting to make a list, of the 5 things you'd most like to see; then we can see where we overlap, or where people have very-singular needs. basically, tho: what's most important?

mine are (off the top of my head):

1 the option to hide the dock background
2. no app names under widgets on the homescreen
3. have siri NOT beep every time she responds
4. customize more sounds (ie the 'message sent' sound)
5. a more-finely gradiated pan slider for audio; i have a hard time 'centering' my earbuds (due to a slight hearing loss in one ear)

#5 is obviously not a common need!

Give us a option to get rid of the stupid home bar.😡

Apple goes through all that effort to have the smallest chin over the other phones, they even patented it, then they ruin the look of it by adding a stupid home bar. 🤦‍♂️

Fairly good collection at https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/ios-14-wishlist.2184844/

I would really like to be able to choose what time my iPhone should fully charge when I go to bed at night.

For example, I wake up at 0530 every day, it’d be cool if the iphone could be fully charged by 0500. Similar to what the new battery software does, but the user is able to manually choose what time they want their phone charged by over night.

Also, be able to choose to not have your iPhone charge when connected to USB in your car, so it’s not charging the entire time you’re driving/listening to music via apple car play. In other words, have the ability to choose if you want your car to charge and access data, or just access data.

Finally, be able to manually choose how much your want your iPhone to charge. I’d like to choose a certain percentage at which my phone stops charging - say around 80% or 90%. Similar to what Tesla does with their car batteries.

Shouldn't someone be starting a IOS 15 wish list thread at this point.

I’m actually hoping that the rumors that Apple will be spreading significant new features throughout the iOS lifecycle is true and that we’ll see new stuff in iOS 14 as we progress through the next year.

I dunno if this was suggested but a notification when battery charge reaches 100%
Definitely a special notification sound different from all other choices. And an option to set it to repeat and how many times like with messages. Best thing I think would be all your devices could notify you if another was 100% or low. Especially with my wife misplacing her iPad. Sometimes by the time she asks me to find it, it's on death's door. Way harder to find when dead. So would be nice to be warned on other devices when it is running low.

Something I’ve wanted to see for a while: more specific volume controls. For example, ringtone, text tone, system sounds. The ability to control each volume individually.

Something I also have wanted for a while. Safari on IOS on iPhone is the only version that still has the < > screen back and forth arrows on the bottom. It is on top for iPad one also on top for items such as Apple News. It was on bottom originally for one hand reach but... At least give an option for top or bottom or screen.

I'd also like to see consistency between apps on IOS and MacOs such as how deletes happen in books, photos etc. as well as other items. Should work the same way

Yes this is one of the few things I still like better from android. Most annoying for me is navigation voice. The only time I can change it is when it is talking. Even in apps where I can set it to loud, it can still be super quiet compared to the music.

How about the option to end a calendar event early? Say you have a calendar event from 12:00 to 1:00 but it ends at 12:30. It will still show active on a widget or Apple Watch unless you delete it or edit it.
