It’s my understanding that the “other” section in iPhone (or iPad) Storage is a space set aside for swapping/moving files around. And considering it’s still a beta, regardless of how stable it is, there’s still going to be the same behaviors. Meaning the extra logging and moving around of files and caching. At one point during the initial iOS 14 betas I had well over 60GB set aside in “other”! But it all cleared up after the official release.
Before installing iOS 15 dev beta 1, my iPhone 12 available capacity was 219GB, now 179GB?! My system data now shows 44.96GB !! Not sure if it was due to the beta install ?! Hopefully will increase back after official iOS 15 release

Hi gank41, what’s your storage size in system data now ?

You are too in iOS 15 dev beta 2 right ?? How do you clear those GB in system data ?? Not sure what’s take up the system data storage?? Pls help
I am, and I didn't. At one point on 15b1 it showed about 30GB but then backed off to about 4GB or so, then after b2 came out it's been at zero. This isn't necessarily something you can "clear out" or "fix", though. My understanding is that this is like a folder used for temp files and organizing. Plus, you know, beta life. You could always try restoring your iPhone. But I'm expecting at some point to also have an excruciatingly high amount of storage in Other at some point again, too.

Private Relay option has gone missing from iCloud settings for me. Further to that, there are two Shortcuts toggles. 😂

EDIT: It came back. But still two Shortcuts.
I’ve found that the Private Relay option in iCloud Settings is always gone until you back out and go back in again. I think one of the first posts in this thread was something along the lines of “iCloud settings is slow to load for me”. I think the issue is Private Relay either timing out or slowing down the iCloud Settings page or something, so it’s not there. But then you go back in and the page has refreshed? Something like that, but in smart code programming form 🤪

Thanks for your kind reply, mine increased to 45GB in system data only after installing iOS 15 dev beta 1 and till now in beta 2. Hopefully these GB can be cleared after iOS 15 is release to public

Oh! I only found it missing this once. It was flawless in beta 1 and I liked how Hide My Mail and Private Relay were shown separately.

I really don't like that new option of locking the Watch and the popup being there for so long... also, the Activity widget is way out of sync. Battery has been OK on my phone, the iPad has ben much better.

I'm on the 9.7 Pro (weird right) and it's still messy but at least the battery lasts more than an episode of Will and Grace.

It's kinda weird that an update that seemingly "brings nothing majorly new" nor groundbreaking would break so many previously working stuff. Like, I'd get the Widgets not syncing in the 14 Beta, since they were new, but now?

That would be nice to have an option to Dismiss the “Unlocked with iPhone” or “Unlocked Mac” alert.

I absolutely prefer getting those notifications... but sure, an OPTION to turn them off (or leave them on) would work for me.
I like it, it could be quicker I think. The lock Watch option it’s what bothers me most; I end up locking it when trying to dismiss it way too many times hahha

I totally prefer to get these notifications, too. I just wish you could dismiss them like other notifications.

Did a bit of reading on it and watched a vid.
Clear some of your apps caches, like hungry data storing snap chat.
This seems to start to drop the system data.

@SESE75

Off loading apps via settings, iPhone storage, (NOT deleting them or your removing the data and youll have to login in again and all that drama), then re-install, can clear a lot of megs from storage. I do instagram monthly - its a beast for memory. so if you've got Twitter, snap chat, Facebook all running I can imagine this cains storage. Might help. Try one app and see if it works for you. Then another, if its actually helping reduce storage data.
