iOS 15 Beta 2 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

Totally caught off guard today by the text reading function.

Co-worker sent their personal email via a Teams message. Went into their contact to add and the option to grab it via the camera came up when I entered the text field.

Just pointed the camera at my laptop screen and grabbed it perfectly and dropped into the contact field. Amazing!

Dropped the Weather widget on page three of my 12 ProMax.
Since then, when I tap on the widget the app launches and I frequently get this:


Doesn’t seem to matter if I am on wifi, 5G, or LTE.

Get that occasionally but then the weather pops up a couple of seconds later.

If I see the name of the city above two dashes it does. If the name is missing it stays like that till I close it.
It acts like a screenshot almost instead of the app.

With 70% battery life left, I’d normally have over 4h usage if not more, battery life is definitely worse compared to 14.6-14.7.

Hopefully it gets better over time.

Not that everybody isn’t at this point most likely. But I am on DB2 (latest version)

I *think* that was for the original beta 2. Mine is working (iPhone 11, new beta 2).

It's really annoying that Apple decided to release two separate betas with the same beta number, plus their usual rubbish release notes.

You’d be a brave man installing the watchOS beta, since if anything goes wrong, you’ll have to send it back to apple to get it fixed. 😳😱

How's beta 2 going for watchOS ?

Working fine on my series 5.

Thanks for the advice, be it restore to iTunes or to iCloud, only afraid that these 47GB again will restore back so is like an unnecessary steps

Isn't possible to dismiss and remove a notification from banner anymore? In iOS 14 it was possible to drag down when previewing the notification coming from banner.

Honestly, do you think Apple would allow the public to test something that would even have a 1% chance of bricking the watch? Not because they’re good guys, but because they don’t want to deal with the resulting PR/repair headaches.

Bridges the gap in continuity/handoff for non-Apple devices. Now almost as easy to move text around as between a Mac and an iPhone

Just as good, battery life is down by a tad, not a deal breaker though, get in there.

Is anybody else on b2v2 seeing a discrepancy between the usage time displayed in the Battery menu and the usage time in the Screen Tine menu? Screen time is showing significantly more usage than the battery menu. It’s happening for both the overall time and each app that I used.

How is your 5G configured? If it is set to 5G auto, it might be by design. If it is 5G on, then it might be a bug. My 5G goes in and out and I see my phone do the same thing but at times when it does not move. Not sure at this time when it started because I just was able to get 5G on my line running this beta.

I just have it on 5G. I did submit a bug during b1 but oddly they replied it works by design which makes no sense.

I don’t know. I don’t have your problem so can’t confirm. You just have to try these things out I’m afraid. I just did a bit of light reading for you on apple forums on the subject of system data and quite a few people reported after a restore there’s went down. So I suggested this to you.

Report back on here if you were successful which will help others with a similar problem. 👍🏼

01/07: Second revision of iOS15 Beta 2. Problem fixed.
