That already had options, etc, and doubt that's changing.

New bottom bar definitely takes up more space, I've checked against an old screenshot, it's about 1 and a half lines of text on this forum
I guess I’m wrong then I was talking about how the floating bar that it would kind of be a little annoying to read under that anyways but if you’re scrolling it should collapse

SharePlay being delayed to a point release makes sense considering the horrible known issues list it had in changelogs up until this beta. Stuff like performance being reduced drastically with 5 or more SharePlay participants and all the different handoff issues (only topped by that nightmare fueled Home app known issues list, which doesn't matter anymore since they delayed Matter support to 2022).

It's clear as night and day now that we're literally in the endgame for iOS 15. The known issues list barely budged the last 2 releases so they're probably wrapping up 15.0 soon, don't expect too many issues being resolved anymore.

Holy crap, that's fast.

I wonder why Preparing takes so long on my 11 Pro Max. It's not much slower than the 12 and yet it's been preparing over 20 minutes now.

also when on the apple sign and progress bar splash page, the progress bar only went about a cm, then it flashed off and was done. very quick this time.

The new bottom Safari bar is imho actually better from an UX perspective. It's instantly usable by anyone who used Safari once in the last decade (bottom row actions) and the tab groups being slidable address bars literally screams "this is a slider, you can easily swipe around" whereas the old floating bar design didn't really scream "look, you can slide around to other tab groups" due to the elements being isolated from each other.

Yeah, previously accessing most things took an extra tap with the ‘…’ menu. I think it’s good that this reverses that and puts everything accessible upfront again. It seems like the best balance and isn’t wasting space all around itself like the floating bar did, instead using that space for useful buttons, plus still enabling the swipe to tab switch.

Totally with you on this one! 👍🏼

I absolutely love the change to Safari in this beta. The bottom bar feels less.... confusing... now. It's more in line with how it was as the top bar (and can be moved up in settings) and no longer interferes with page content.

I'm probably going to keep using it at the bottom now, and this is coming from a major bottom-bar hater up to this point. This is perfect; leave it be Apple. :)

New Safari changes make it downright ugly to look at and take up space at the bottom obscenely. Beta 5 had it right. All they needed was a toggle. They didn’t have to do this.

After 5 betas, my muscle memory is searching for buttons that are pushed below. This is unfortunate.

All they needed to do was create a toggle for people to choose from the two designs, not for where the tab bar would be. That’s it.

As it stands, I’m now back on the old iOS 14 style because now that is what takes the least space on screen.

Glad that iOS is now on weekly schedule, I cannot tolerate this for a week. It also means I will have to use a different browser on iOS, something I have never needed to do ever since my first iPhone.

Reverting to iOS 14 style also means losing the gesture navigation in the tabs. Disastrous.

Beta 5 was just right for that design, all they needed to do was add this toggle for the old design.

I definitely prefer the Beta 5 bottom bar from a design perspective. There’s something that doesn’t seems right with this new bottom bar. But I agree with you that it seems more intuitive to use the sliding tabs with this new design. It was not at all intuitive for me to slide the bar on previous betas, and needed some muscle memory

The only thing I liked about the bottom bar is switching between tabs. The new bottom bar design is much better in my opinion because I have faster access to share, bookmarks and the tab buttons.

I could care less that it takes up a few more lines on the screen.

Does it take up more screen space or is it just an illusion because the floating bar had no panel filling the space it occupied? I barely used the old bar because I couldn't really get used to it the few times I tried. The B6 one instantly clicked with me.

Scrolling sensitivity I think they've pissed around with this again. its on steroids even with a slow thumb scroll. struggling to focus on text/content. As soon as it moves its like its bluring/jarring.

Go to settings, look at one one word and start scrolling slowly... its like the text is vibrating.

Might have tiered screen eyes. but it doesn't feel as smooth as B5 to me.

EDIT hard restart fixed. Obvs.

@Ansath confirmed it takes more space

They added more colors and shades to the radar in the weather app to make it easier to differentiate heavy and light precipitation.
I just got home, so I’m waiting on beta 6 to download. But I do have more colors/shades in beta 5. Did they go even further with this in beta 6?

I believe it’s different from beta 5

Install just started, so now I can’t even look! 😂🤦‍♂️ I’ll take your word for it since I can‘t compare now 😂

On a somewhat unrelated note, ya just had to fit Marco Island into that screenshot, huh? Just another reminder of how long it’s been since I’ve taken a vacation 😂 It’s one of my favorite places!
