I will probably wait until DB2 or DB3 depending on stability for iOS since I only have one phone. My iPad will certainly get DB1 today. The iMac will stay on the public release for now - may install a later public beta if the stability is good and the features are enticing.

If iOS 15 does as well as iOS 14, there will be a lot of happy beta people.

I did this with iOS 14 and although the widgets didn't really work at the beginning I still felt smug having a different home screen to anyone else I knew :)
I'm sorry/not sorry I felt the exact same way. I sort of casually let friends see my widgets and loved explaining that they too might have them...someday.

And now, while I'm still mostly working from home, I'm probably feeling even braver to risk it on my daily device.

That’s the kind of willing spirit we want to see. Walk into the beta fire will eyes wide open. :D
As long as you don't pour gasoline into the fire that is LOL

AND assuming someone uploaded the developer beta profile online tonight as well. 🤣

I feel that as long as I have a good backup (on my laptop as well as iCloud) then there's no risk in trying the beta as soon as it lands, as I know how to restore my phone from backup if needed. Only annoyance is that I'm currently on the 14.7 beta, so a restore will involve a restore-as-new, then profile, then beta, then restore from backup.

I'm sure that won't be necessary, but at least I'm prepared.

I'll wait until Public Beta 2 or 3 for the stability, but I have a few questions about iOS 15, or stuff that wasn't announced I thought was coming;

- Darker dark mode? I thought there was a new Dark mode coming, that would then darken the icons, etc...

- AoD? Where's the Always on Display? That's a big one that's needed.

- No more customization options? Like icon packs and themes for iOS? Without needing to use the Shortcuts app or Jailbreaking.

Nothing I’ve heard today makes it worth it. Risk:Reward and all that. Changing my mind from my post above.
Dito. Quite disappointing update, some ok features, but nothing that comes close to massive or big. Well ok, maybe some of the later betas, otherwise I will officially update in September.

Unfortunately, my second device is a 6S which won't support iOS15, so it'll go on my primary (11) device. That makes it even more exciting!
Even more exciting! My 6S is still supported. Somehow I'll squeeze it onto the 16GB phone.

I'll update both at the same time, just to keep the adrenaline running.

For now, I am going to sit out the beta. I really didn't see anything that was compelling and or anything I wanted to start using.
I'm a bit skeptical but given there's no major differences or updates, I will go ahead for the developer beta.

Let's hope there's not a lot of bugs in this one 😂

I need to check compatibility. I may install on my OG SE later on (if supported) just to see it in action, and to get hands on for later on.

Go ahead with your SE, it's supported! None of the iOS 14 supported devices were dropped this year in fact.

I'm installing on an iPhone X right now, and the file size for the OS is just 2.78GB (which is arguable very small compared with previous releases).

Hope this helps :p

No, I'm waiting for the Public Beta.

Plan to test the new multitasking and compatibility for some abandoned apps I use. On iPad, though, not on iPhone.

Thanks for the information. This site is a whirlwind and I am still trying to catch up on stories and information I missed earlier today.

How is the battery life? HA! :p. I just had to.

You might have to ask my loading bar to move faster for me to answer your question lol

But for real, I wouldn't expect my battery to be significantly affected given how "unusual" this beta release is.

So far I’m having no issues with iOS 15. Safari works totally different now so if you hate change, hold off as long as you can. I think it’s way better now.
