I have absolutely no problem with my XS.
I really wonder what causes these stutters for some users… even after factory reset. And for others not. Maybe it’s really some specific setting in the system menus…

It's a weird issue because even my old 6S is buttery smooth and almost as fast as the XS. Guess I'm lucky.

Would you mind trying 15.2 to see if it fixes the issue?

I tried iPhone SE 2020 one hour ago on iOS 14. There is definitly some change in animations. Animations on iPhone SE are longer and they do some ghost effect. Animations on my 12 Pro iOS 15.2 are shorter but more precises. It’s hard to explain. However I don’t see any diference between iOS 15.1 and 15.2.

I had minor stutter issues prior to 15.1 but don’t recall seeing any since updating.

It would happen at times when swiping to the homescreen or activating the app switcher.

Animation stutter. Good that they added per-app accessibility setting? I chose reduce motion for Safari to make it more useable. However, the setting reduces a few animations but leaves most animations on! What a mess.

It seems that the stutter only occurs when RAM is full.

Is this also occurring on models after the XS? Most also have 4GB of RAM similar to the XS, if iOS was mismanaging memory it should be happening on everything I'd think.

Yes one user reported that iPhone 12 has the issue too a few pages back.

Hello, I have noticed that when it is plugged into the charger the slowdown is even more noticeable

I have stutters even with iOS 14.8, maybe they are doing some bad ram management? Apparently closing all background apps fixes it temporarily

Hey there,

My XS feels overall sluggish and slower since I updated to iOS 15. Typing feels somewhat laggy, the animation of going from locked screen to main screen drags a bit, the gesture to expose all open apps sometimes gets a bit ‘stuck’, etc.

Anyone else experiencing this? I’ve had the new iOS for a week now.
Cheers
i have an iphone x and works very well

I have an X and its not perfect but its not bad. I had battery health at under 80% before I replaced the battery and performance was really poor. That was about 2-3 months ago. Since the battery was replaced I have had no issues and everything still works really well. Not perfect but I'm not expecting perfect with a 4 year old phone.

It’s really weird how there are conflicting reports on older phones ie I had a bad experience on my XR.

Did you factory reset and install? Or do an OTA update?
First, download and install iOS 15, after this, factory reset and configure like new. Never had problemas with this system.
