My Surface Book 2 13" is no way as nice to use as an ipad, even for consumption. It gets quite hot from mild use and the displays touch function is noway near as good as an iPads. It is a nice idea but poorly executed. It also lacks most of apps that I use on the iPad to read papers etc.

This has also been my experience using Surface devices in tablet mode. Apple absolutely does need to do more with iPad OS but it needs to do it the right way. I have a feeling they're already down that path but its going to take a little more time before we all see it. Splitting off iPad OS was step one.

For the money we give and for the money they have I expect to have my mind blown away TWICE a year. And get rid of almost all bugs. I cannot understand this submissive behavior of many users like: Ok, some small changes..that is enough. I want a keynote where you cannot shut your mouth for a week. Every year.
You just flat out have unrealistic expectations. We didn't even have this when Steve was alive.

This is one of the less exciting update in term of wanting to put the beta on my phone to use it early on my daily device, yes. It reminds me of iOS 12 in that regard but iOS 15 have many little things that will improve my daily usage so overall its a great update - but just not one that I can't wait until september to install it.

Not a single feature that the casual user will be hyped about. All this FaceTime and group sharing is so niche, weird they spent so much time on it
I am sure this kind of thread is repeated every year....

Well not when they change the entire os ui, then there's the "it was better before".

Why hasn't Apple renamed IOS to iPhoneOS yet? iOS doesn't seem to make any logical sense anymore.
Cause it still runs on the iPod touch, which is not an iPhone.

it’s also there just for brand recognition. They could change it but there’s just no incentive business-wise.

plus, the other apple OSes sort it out for us (mac os, watch os, ipad os), leaving us with... ios (which, after all, stands for "iphone OS")

i am actually hyped about FOCUS! i use it all the time. oh yeah and iPadOS home screen widgets and app library. other than that, apple has not been doing the best job with their new operating systems lately which is weird.

No one really needs focus, useless feature I don’t need my phone changing the layout of apps

That’s a very narcissistic take - “Because I don’t use it, nobody else does or should”.

I use Focus modes. I have one set to activate when I go to work. It silenced any app that isn’t work related, and it changes my home screen so that all the apps I use at work are front and center. When I leave it goes back to my regular Home Screen.

iOS 15 leaves a lot to be desired. In any case ....Don't expect to much and you wont be disappointed

There’s really not that much tweaking that needs to be done at this point. I’m just thankful for the little features that continuously get added like widgets, and now the ability to copy and paste text from photos. The weather and maps updates are cool too. Overall I don’t really need much more.

too much of macrumors users these days are immature kids that want something to play with - go outside get fresh air instead, run, bike …none of them are concerned with fundamentals like ios stability, device durability - cuz if they were they would have made sense. i appreciate apple not adding features that are half ass and thoughtless like android . the less apple listens to those macrumor brat generations that make posts that make no sense, the more succesfull they’ll be.
