So far so good, seems similar performance to 14.8, battery is still similar so far, hoping it might improve a little in the next week. I mean it lasts me from 6:30 to like 9:00 with moderate use so I guess I can't be too picky.
thanks for saying so!!!!I went ahead and upgraded last night and so far so good. Gotta see what the battery is over a the next few days
Exactly, too many shoddy batteries out there. Having said that the cheap one from Amazon I put in my 6 still works fine 2 years later. But it is a short in the dark and with the work involved on a 7+ I cannot be bothered doing it over and over until I have a good battery.
In any case the 7+ in still behaving well under IOS 15, no real change to IOS 14.
Nevertheless I am sitting on the fence:
1. Invest 55 Euros and have a new battery installed in the 7+ at the Apple Store
2. Get a SE 2020 which would cost me around 350 Euros - downside the smaller screen, upside inductive charging and touchID and a much faster processor
3. Splash out a 1000 Euros and get a 13Pro which I am sure is a great phone but I hate that it doesn't have touchID (and I hate the cash outlay)
Opinions are more than welcome![]()
would you mind pointing pointing out a few things you have noticed, in particular?do not even think to update the ios 15 is really buggy sluggy ****ky on iphone 7 plus
After about a week sadly I've started having a few issues, mainly related to touch, and music acting wonky. Lastly I've started to see jankiness in the app switcher, although it's not totally unbearable I hope it gets fixed soon.
Well there is also the 14.8.1 update, which it might be notifying you about. I just updated my 7+ from 14.8 to 14.8.1 since it was available. (of course ios15 is also an option to install)I'm still on 14.8 and I'm starting to get the onscreen alerts to plug in to a power source and update. My music app (tidal) has been acting odd for the past couple months or so.
What specifically about touch has been showing up?
My opinion as well. Keeping my 7+ for now. Battery Health at 77% on original 5 year old battery. Still on 14.8
thanks for saying so!!!!
Right. I mean, our phones are maybe just about getting "dated" in the next year or so but if batteries function well and the phone performs very well- playing the waiting game is easier for sure. I have never brought an iPhone in to have a battery replaced- yall bring up good pointes about doing that as way to prolong keeping the phone for a more tolerable cost rather than jumping straight to an upgrade.
My battery health says 81 percent.

I have a 7+ Jet Black too. Why is it considered a unicorn?I love my 7+. It was a 'unicorn' phone - Jet Black. The Genius who booked it in was reminiscing when he saw it and impressed it was in such good condition.
wow good for you! You can absolutely ride our 7+ out until other phones come out! They have been really great, beyond great even! I'm hoping to leave mine as is until I can throw money at an upgrade.I just had the battery replaced in my 7+ yesterday! I had it done at the Apple Store and it only took about an hour. I've never had anything like that done before and was terrified it might not survive. It did though and I now have 100% battery health again.
I'm hoping it will keep going until next year when I'm hoping I will like the design of the next generation of iPhones enough to persuade myself to pay out the much higher price to buy one.

I think, because of the deep matte black - as it seems apple had strayed away from black for whatever backwards and wretched reason!I have a 7+ Jet Black too. Why is it considered a unicorn?
Sorry, I called it a Unicorn myself - I don't think it was an official name.I have a 7+ Jet Black too. Why is it considered a unicorn?
The 7 has a lot less RAM than 7 Plus. The 7 Plus has a whopping 50% more RAM.would recommend to stay on ios 14.
since my 7 is on 15.2 it feels much slower. lags opening the camera from the lockscreen, lags in taskswitcher, lags in messages, overall system performance is slower.
I like the new features but should have stayed on 14 for now.
I much preferred Touch ID on my 7 Plus than Face ID on my 12 Pro Max. Ideal would be to have both though.FaceID is so much better than touchID in almost all circumstances. Using touchID on my iPad Pro is a much worse experience than FaceID on my phone
How is it perfoming on your iphone? Any lag or is it snappy?Updated iPhone 7 and 1st gen iPad Pro to 15.2, no problems for me.
But then I am not a heavy user.
I am certain you cannot.I am certain I can restore my iOS10 backup from my PC to the updated phone.
I thought you could if you had the shsh files or something for the ios version on the phone?? Maybe I understood it wrong then. Oh well.I am certain you cannot.
You should be able to restore a backup from an older iOS version, but it won't change the OS. It will just put the apps and data from the backup to the version already on the device.I thought you could if you had the shsh files or something for the ios version on the phone?? Maybe I understood it wrong then. Oh well.
