Anybody else not a fan of the new Safari tab/address bar. Hate that it's not uniform when you tab through. Can't stand that the address bar moves w each tab

I'm thinking either Tuesday 6th or Wednesday 7th. Isn't public beta delayed by about a week after DP anyway? Beta 2 v2 was same build so I'm guessing it won't affect their release schedule.

It’s usually only 1-2 days after the second beta moving forward and then same day, just a few hours later, for the last few.

Apple usually only goes weekly after Beta 3 at the earliest.

If we didn’t have the revised Beta 2 last week, I would say DB3 is 100% this week. Since we have had that revised DB2, I’m 50/50 on DB3 this week.

Also, would not be certain there’d be another PB this week, so quick after PB1 last week.

Maybe the revised beta was more or less for iPad Pro 9.7“ compatibility (is it compatible yet?). Makes sense that they‘d want that for the PB.

I‘m keen on seeing DB3 this week, don‘t think there‘s ever been an occurrence where they slipped a beta release by a week. If there is it was an outlier.

Pretty much irrelevant.

PB is nothing more than latest DB release delayed by as much as a day or two at this point.

If DB is due this week and released, PB will follow a day or two later.

Not irrelevant. It’s happened before, that a DB came out with no PB. I think iOS 11.0, was Beta 5 or 6.

Not necessarily. Loads of times PBs lag a week behind early on. We could very well get DB3 this week and PB2 next week. Never got that strategy though, MacRumors alone is like a bruteforce QA group that finds any game breakers within 30 minutes of a new build going live… might aswell check the board a few hours after a new build and then push out the PB once it got MacRumors „this doesn‘t brick“ stamp of approval.

I’m thinking next week so not to get disappointed. I don’t think the revised beta 2 build will alter the timeline, but I doubt they will release a new public beta that soon after the first public beta.

I’m in the “extra beta 2 will not alter the overall timeline” club. I think we will see beta 3 this week. Probably on Wednesday.

I am torn, I can see it both ways. We’ve had PB lag behind DB before by a week, and we’ve also had no PB with a DB before.

I view the PB “timeline” as a supplement to the main “DB timeline” (too much Loki, perhaps?). In other words, Apple’s key dates are the DB release dates and the PB releases generally just go along for the ride.

I also view the second DB2 release last week as an anomaly, either to address the missing iPad release or to correct some minor thing prior to the PB release. Consequently, I think that they will remain on the likely timeline of 2 week releases, hence a release this week.

You guys crack me up (sorry…can’t multiquote on Tapa for some reason).

You’re using a couple of extremely rare cases over a 10 year period for your reasoning that we will get a DB this week but a PB will be delayed a week?

DB 3 this week with PB a day or two later.

This cycle should continue for the next 2-3 betas before switching to the typical weekly DB release with PB following 3 hours after.

Last week was a weird catch-up due to an issue with one product and IMHO, PB1 was actually issued a week EARLY due to the great stability on both DB’s.

DB’s are planned WAY in advance.

PB’s just come along for the ride assuming no issues with the corresponding DB.

Well, a revised Beta 2 isn’t part of the normal cycle and wasn’t planned for….. I’m not saying there definitely won’t be a DB3 this week, just saying that we should not be relying on the usual cycle. The iOS 14 and 15 betas have showed that Apple will buck their trends. I’m keeping an open mind, after being burnt by sticking to what Apple usually do.

The trend with PB was it came a week after the DB, so DB3 this week with PB2 next week would be the cycle for this point in the beta process, so you are saying Apple will buck that trend by following the trend later on in the x.0 beta process?

Your post is slightly contradictory mate.

The PBs used to be the week following the DB, for the first few, before moving to being the following day later on. So if we’re sticking to what Apple usually does, means that PB2 will be next week.
