Has anyone come across the issue where you keep getting the pop up showing you that you can change the click behavior during phone calls on AirPods 3 or AirPods Pro 2 ? I can’t seem to pinpoint what makes it happen but I keep getting the pop up and it changes the behavior “back” to default so that 1 click mutes the phone call and 2 clicks hangs it up. I have used Airpods for way too long to have it change the default behavior From hanging up the phone to simply putting it on mute. It’s driving me nuts.
I used my AirPods 3 for a few hours yesterday and didn’t see this a single time.

Stuff going on since updating to 17.0.1 …
This is happening on both the 13 ProMax and iPad Pro 11 Gen4

  • Mail - badge says X - upon opening Mail, the Inbox is actually X+Y. Closing Mail after opening fixes the badge count.
  • Messages - Says 3. - Open Messages and it shows 2. (See attached).
  • Proton Mail - Badge says 6 - open mail and I show 8 unread in the Inbox.
  • Safari - Bookmarks - cleaned up my bookmarks last night and after moving one from the last row to the top row I was unable to change anymore for approx 15 minutes. When I tried I got the message that sync was in process and I would not be able to change anything till it was done.
  • Face ID on the iPad is slow. You can literally count to 4 or 5 before it unlocks.
Have hard rebooted both devices.
Both were updated 17.0.1 OTA - Update to 17.0.0 was ipsw.

Fun times.

Actually I have first-generation iPad Pro 11 and also had mentioned issues with Face ID and Mail. Moreover, the perfomance was really poor, it took time for apps to open, I could literally count to at least 3-4 and there were stutters across the whole system. Taking into account all of the issues I downgraded back to iPadOS 16.

iOS Sync remains stuck at step 2 on macOS.

Yup. I think it started for me around iOS 17b5 and MacOS Sonoma b5 and still happens. Will always work properly if I disconnect the phone and connect it again, runs through the sync process without issues the second time after reconnecting.

However, the sync is also not deleting any log files like before. I don't know if this is an iOS or MacOS issue.

I'm updating to iOS 17.0.1 right now. Do I need to then do 17.0.2? I'm hoping that this makes Standby better but I'm completely expecting to be disappointed.

Is it possible to set the alarm volume?

I pick a sound, turn the volume down while it's playing, but that seems to only relate to the preview. Once the alarm goes off it plays at whatever volume the ringtone volume is set to.

(I'm on 17.0 as I can't find useful release notes for 17.0.1 so can't be bothered to update.)

Yes, it is possible. Set the ringer volume according to you preference and alarm will use it too. That's how it works at least for me.

Anyone notice 17.0.1 turned on every location service for all Apple services? I normally have almost all of them off and today I got a parked care location notification. Now I know why.

Yeah, that's what I was hoping to avoid. I'd really like to set the alarm volume without having to alter the unrelated (imo) ring volume.

Edit: I tried to hack my way around it with automations (drop ringer volume when alarm goes off, put it up high when alarm is turned off) but as the alarm has already started, dropping the ringer volume does nothing to the alarm sound. Boo. At least I can have it set the ringer volume up high once the alarm is turned off, in case I forget to to that.

Feed back: I’m going to suggest it as a new feature under suggestion, if you want to get involved. And anyone else…

I don't think adding others' FB numbers does anything useful. Using the exact same title probably does, as I reckon they use some dumb AI (e.g. Siri) to count similar feedback requests, and having the same title should do it.

I'll call mine "Independent Alarm volume setting".
