Hard reset seems to have fixed dictation.
not for me. I had to restore from the last backup yesterday of the previous build to re-enable it. Which meant unpairing watch, setting up credit cards again, etc. But it's worth it. I use dictation all the time in Messages especially.

Does anyone have Apple Pay failing? The payment process does not start either with a double tap or by bringing the phone closer to the payment machine.
I only get it to work normally by inserting an express card, where it works fine again even if I remove the express card. But after restarting the phone, it stops working again, so I have to go through the process again to activate Apple Pay.
I have an iPhone 13 pro.
Had this today. It worked at two of the three locations but the third failed several times before I pulled out my card. She said they normally have no issue with Apple Pay.

argh! how did you update? OTA or ipsw? I have Dictation enabled. It was working yesterday. Actually I had to install as new because of another issue and now this. I use it all the time. CarPlay Dictation works.

To be clear, I downloaded 17.4_21E5184i yesterday and updated using that. Today I did OTA and that mucked it up. Downloading "k" now and we'll see.

OTA.

I don't understand how things happen to you that haven't happened to me, I do the installations via OTA, and everything goes at the speed of light, I hope you make the arrangements because I can't help you because I haven't had these problems. So encourage all those who have the problem, although thinking about it coldly, the best thing would be to make a clean installation and from there, see what's going on.
I’ve been at this beta thing for a looooong time… I don’t install OTA. IPSW full install (done it twice now for this build). Probably just one of those situations where there’s SOMETHING hung up somewhere, or with some app. I was just sharing with anyone interested. Apple devs have responded a couple of times, requesting specific logs. 👍🏾

Identifiable region shows as GB for me now, though it's still showing a string rather than a properly translated piece of text.

But I suppose the EU changes weren't actually in effect in the beta then if the region identification wasn't working properly.
I'm sure that in the next releases of the beta they will polish those small flaws.

I‘m from the EU and I can’t see any changes lol. Even the settings app is exactly the same as 17.3, I was hoping to see some alternative App Store settings

Have the control center delays related to interacting with it when the auto brightness is on, as well as the flashing sliders in the control center, been fixed?

Web apps that have been added to home screen now open in Safari instead of full screen 🙄

I hope this is a bug and not an intentional change

Edit : Ugh, they changed the text.
It says the home screen icon will open the website in default browser.

What about PWA apps ?!

I cannot search Calendar for events in the last year.
I can do it in my old devices so fairly sure this is new to beta

I have not seen that issue so not me!
I have been experiencing lags in the control center (opening and closing it during automatic brightness change causes lagging animation) since the update to 17, and flashing sliders appeared after update 17.2.

I did a DFU restore at the end of December at 17.2.1, at the moment at 17.3 all these problems are also present. I use the regular 13

What can you recommend to me to solve this problem?

Well, I guess now they will have access to the Safari extensions. One thing I didn’t like about making a website a web-app, is that you couldn’t use Safari Extensions on them.

But I think that’s not the most optimal change. Web-apps shouldn’t open in Safari. We’ll see

As this seems to be affecting nobody else it may be a hardware issue.

Has anyone noticed that when unlocking the iPhone even without touching the camera button activates the green indicator in the control centre indicating that the camera app is actually using the camera? It has been since the time of iOS 16 that I have noticed this phenomenon and, to date with the various releases of iOS 17, it still persists
