iPhone 13 very smooth with this update. However battery is not holding up like it used to. As always for me, moderate usage and by bedtime I'm down to 10%. For a moderate user I shouldn't need to charge during the day. Never have before.

You didn’t need to charge during the day. You still had 10% left by bedtime.

Has anyone experienced any change to the way in which their on-screen keyboard, predictive and autocorrect works?

I feel like it's changing every other word I type and I'm having to go back and alter it. This is definitely worse since I updated.

It has degraded for me throughout the 17.5 betas. I tend to use voice transcription to post on this site. Sometimes it works great. Other times it is “correcting” what is transcribed. Keyboard - that is an absolute mess.

If there is one area that Apple needs to fix, it’s the algorithms around manual text entry. In my experience, they’ve come a long way in dictation. But I’m not seeing that translate to words that are tapped/swiped on a keyboard.

Fortunately, if there’s one area generative AI can fix, this may be it.

Is anyone having any issues with voice notes? I feel like the quality has gone way down in 17.5. Voice messages are staticky and not nearly as clear as before this update. Both incoming and outgoing.

It has been widely reported. It last happened in iOS14.5.1 and needed a fix from Apple.
Signing in and out of stuff doesn't help.
Apple seem to be aware of it and some say it has been fixed server-side, mine still grayed out.

Weirdly who in their right mind wants to be tracked?
(Apparently gamers)

Yes. They’re absolutely terrible after this update. A buddy sent me one last night from a 13 mini and it was unlistenable.

I have been having intermittent issues with the keyboard when my Bluetooth headphones are connected: the keyboard constantly changes to numbers/symbols in the middle of typing words. Bizarre.

True, but my point being if it were an unusual day and I was out hiking using maps or away from the charger as usual and got suddenly a need for extra usage it might not be there. Also, it wasn't this way previously. I can make it thru the day almost always but the day I really need it??
Doesn't matter much since iOS 18 will mess with battery and more probably most of the summer.

Yesterday I took a screenshot on my Apple Watch S8 at 5:26 pm and that screenshot showed up on my iPhone after 11 pm. I personally don't take screenshot on my Apple Watch so I'm not sure if it's always like that but seems bizarre that 200KB screenshot shows up in photos app after several hours.

I’m seeing this, too. Having issues syncing up between my S9 Apple Watch and iPhone.

@cigz

Have had various issues with syncing between my AWU and 15PM For most of the 17.5 betas. Did a few Feedback’s on these. Something is off.

Picture sync between AWU and 15PM - takes minutes to hours
Messages forwarded from 15PM to iPad Pro - unless Messages is open on 15PM, notifications show up on iPad first
AWU to 15PM - mirrored yet many notifications, messages, emails, and calls will never show up on AWU
Responding to items on AWU will not show up on 15PM till much later - pics may be part of this.

I unpaired and repaired my AWU to the 15PM late in the betas but this did not show any real improvement.
Watch was not on the beta train.

Another thing I noticed was my Apple Watch wasn't automatically connecting to our Home WiFi. Going into Settings on my Watch and selecting it, it joined immediately. Not seeing any change in this, though.. Seems random as to how long some things take.

Battery ages, that’s the usual way it goes.
There won’t be an iOS update that magically improves the battery life over time.

@Reeneman,
Totally agree with you on both points. My comment about ios18 was with it being a raw and brand new and featured filled beta that battery life would maybe not be the best for the first few betas.
i switch phones a lot so consequently my iPhone 13 is still at 97% battery health as I’m not using it all the time and don’t think the health has degraded that much to cause a problem.
Anyway, was just sharing an observation that got my attention since it seems a noticeable degradation in the daily battery longevity for that device. My usage is generally the same on a daily basis and I would usually end the day with 30% average left in the tank. Now consistently at around 10%. Getting close to not making it thru. I’ve never had to charge any device more than once in a 24 hour period since the nickel cadmium days. 🤣
