Almost any update, OS, App, FW, config updates etc has an impact on hoa a device work. We all use our devices differently with different apps, different periperals and with different settings, this makes it very hard to generalize and say that an update has amazing batterylife or not.

Apps might need to be updated to accomodate all the "under the hood" updates that iOS 17.6 has, periperals might need to be updated too
In the past we have seen updates to the BMS and who knows (guessing now) that might be the case here too.

Give it a few days, update periperhals, update apps and if you know you are running a few odd apps, configs or solutions that might not be mainstream and encounter crazy battery drain, disable these to see if that might help.

Something weird happened with Siri in this release. I updated my 15 Pro Max to 17.6 last night. This morning while out I tried to use Siri and it immediately said there was a problem. It didn’t even try to connect.

I rebooted and Siri then worked, but only after being prompted to allow Siri to use my location data when asking for the weather. I had given permission in the past and never had to give permission again until today.

Some of the security patches were related to security settings and that you could bypass them. 3 were specifically related to Siri. Guessing now but maybe the security fix did reset some settings?

Anyone else noticing a weird animation on the updating button, when it turns to open, in the App Store (app updates)?

This update BROKE my 5ghz WiFi for latest iPad Pro 13 and my iPhone 14 pro. It is unstable, fluctuating…horrible

Have you tried to forget the network and connect again? Or if that doesn't work, reset network settings?
What kind of wireless gizmos are you using? You using any VPN services?

I don't have these issues but don't have the exact same devices that you have, iPad pro M1, and iPhone 13 pro and a 14 is the nearest to what you have.

Very good build - battery life strong off the bat, and no issues so far.

This looks like it’s going to be a keeper until 18 gets through the teething phase.
Thank you. Given that iAppleBytes hasn’t uploaded a battery test, the user’s experience is the only clue to know wether this is better than previous build or not.

What device are you running iOS 17.6 on?

I only had this happen on my iPhone. My iPad didn’t make me re-grant permissions.

iPhone 14 Pro Max. After updating phone doesn't seem connect with WiFi, stopped downloading emails, connect with Feedback. MBP connects without a problem. Yes, I did a restart.
Second restart and everything is working. Sorry to bother folks.

DFU downgrade from iOS 18 DB 4 initial release and now running iOS 17.6 on iPhone 13 Pro...

Waiting for iOS 17.7 which will probably be released alongside iOS 18.0 in September 2024
