You were looking for night mode, I was stuck thinking about the new stuff. So I was thinking about standby mode. Sorry!

No worries! This was actually IN night mode (or dark mode; whatever it’s called) with the default iOS 17 wallpaper.

I’ve got to be real. They should have called this 16.8. It’s the least impressive iOS update I’ve ever seen.

The rumors got it completely wrong this year.. no new wallet app or control center. Maybe Apple closed the leaks finally. although I guess there wasn’t much to leak.
I guess Apple should refund you the $0 you paid for it.

I think it's hilarious that people not only believe software-based leaks (stuff from the supply chain is a different story), but doubly hilarious that people get all butt-hurt when such wish-casting doesn't come true.

Fact is, Apple just launched a completely new computing platform, one that will eventually replace both iOS and macOS. They had bigger fish to fry this year than whatever your pet feature was.

Hahah. Good luck! Maybe you can update your macOS and surprise them with the new presenter overlay stuff. I'm wondering if I should do this tomorrow hahah

I just didn’t have time to update my Mac…will do that when I land.

In first Class for my first leg and the flight attendants brought me two drinks wanting to know if I could tell the difference between rum and Diet Coke and rum and Coke Zero..:I could not..:and now, two drinks in before we’ve even taken off.

just updated and I found two minor changes that have not been mentioned before:
1-Password recovery option (now it lets you use your old password in 72 hours to reset your new password)

2- Stocks widget not has separation lines

3- widgets part now has a safari reading list option (can be surprising if u use it to save some private meditation videos)

4- photo editing screen now has button changes.

I'll only add screenshots except for the 3rd one.

I noticed they covered web pages as web apps in the section about macOS, and made reference to this functionality on iOS and iPadOS. Out of curiosity, do all websites added to the Home Screen on iOS and iPadOS open in their own separate windows as well, or do they still open within Safari? I know many already open in their own windows on iPadOS (but not all), and I’ve yet to see any that open in separate windows on iOS. Is that still the case, or do web pages added to the Home Screen now open in their own windows on iOS as well?

Seems to open as its own app.

Ok, that makes iOS 17 fantastic!!! This will be such a nice improvement for my use case! I use several web apps that don’t necessarily have App Store versions, and being able to open them in their own windows will be a game changer! 👍🏻. Thanks for checking that out! 👍🏻

Unfortunately after further testing it only seems to work on certain sites that identify as a web app. Not sure it's any different than on iOS 16.

Ok, thank you so much for looking into that, I really appreciate it! 👍🏻. It’s nice to see that at least some sites allow me to do that, because I haven’t found any on iOS before that did that! 👍🏻. Facebook would be a big one if I could get it to open in its own window, because the web version has some tools for group management the mobile app doesn’t have.
