On iPadOS 17 beta 3, the predictive text floating bar when using the Smart Folio keyboard now blocks the last text message on the messages app. Annoying, but that floating predictive text bar has always been finicky.

That appears when the last thing you sent that particular content was a voice recording. If you use dictation to dictate a new message, that’ll go away.

That’s not the dictation icon, it’s the voice message icon. The dictation icon is a Microphone.

The two bugs that bugged me with Beta 2 have been fixed— HDR and the transparent background in Safari Tab view with certain Home Screen wallpapers. So far this beta is looking good!

That’s not the dictation icon, it’s the voice message icon. The dictation icon is a Microphone.

Sorry for misstating dictation vs voice message. All messages I’ve sent are iMessage or SMS. I never use audio messages so just curious why it appears on all my existing messages

Im hoping this fixes a bug I had on my 14PM where it wouldn’t charge while being plugged into CarPlay.

It would show it was charging but the number would stay stuck.

The Mail app doesn’t show you ads. I’ll trade 5 minutes for that.

EDIT: I almost forgot about the trackers. That’s worth at least 5 more mins.

The Gmail app supports push notifications.

The Mail app (for Gmail accounts) does not. You can set it to Fetch every 15 minutes but you won’t receive instant notifications like you would with the Gmail app.

OT, but personally, I’d be in favor of merging the iOS 17 and iPadOS 17 threads. The iPad threads get very few posts and 90% of the features are the same or very similar.

The spot changes between the dictation option or the voice message option, depending on last used, with the default icon being dictation.

Since you have dictation disabled, it’s defaulting to the only other icon it can show there.

Were you always able to re-order the new iMessage + menu? I remember trying to bring gifs to the first page and couldn't, but I can now - might have just not tried too hard before lmao.
