Screen distance has not worked for me since beta 1.

Unless I am missing something, I’ve toggled it on in Screen Time, and it’s never worked despite having it close to my face.

Maybe there’s another setting I need to have enabled for it to work?

I’ve never had it trigger so I assumed I was a model citizen and always kept the phone at the appropriate distance from my face. Now you’re giving me doubts!

I can say I definitely have mine regularly less than a foot from my face and it’s never triggered.

I only had to enable that one individual setting for it to work on my 14PM. Seems to work very reliably.

Ah yes. I never use the App Library, so to my mind, removing something from the home screen has the same meaning as deleting the app.

So yes, they either need to change the wording of that message or not actually delete the app. So it's a bug, just as you said!

I get options.

Suddenly I wasn’t able to download an app, then I was changing accounts in the App Store and now I cannot sign in, it gives authentication error, I had restarted the phone without any positive result. iCloud is signed in. Apple servers are running. FB12882169

Edit: for me it was one app, because then I was logged out, so…

Update: It works now, maybe something from servers here ;)

"AN app"? "ANY app"?

One letter truly does make a difference.

Unlock

Three mornings in a row now, after charging I had to unlock using my password. Apparently the unit crashed during the night. These nights the unit has crashed I have not seen any corresponding crash entry.

Second item, since updating to beta 4 v2, I have been seeing a large number of “com.apple.photoanalysisd” entries.
Anyone know what these are? I do not backup photos to the iCloud.

Thx!

Seems that Beta 4 helped (slightly) with reception. There's a 3 mile stretch near me that would always buffer when listening to a few apps. Now it doesn't----just an observation.
I've been blaming my network... Verizon has seemed to be absolutely worthless outside of my city. At least AT&T had coverage on the highways, too.

One probably related to the other. Not good.

I'd re-install via the IPSW to try and resolve prior to installing the next beta. My .02.

Has anyone else had problems with location services where you’re at home and in bed and your watch and phone are snuggled away on your MagSafe Duo and after you fall asleep…

It decides you aren’t home and now your cameras keep detecting a person and spamming your watch and phone, depleting your already miserably unacceptable, green bubble-like, battery?

It’s happened twice this beta.

I’ve tried restarting everything attached to my account. I’ve toggled airplane mode. The first time, leaving my place and returning solved the issue.

I just tried driving around the block and location services still hasn’t decided that I’m home.

Yes!!! I keep reporting this. The first message is audible and after that it’s barely audible. FB12748446 & FB12560231.
I’m thinking this might be server-side. It worked this morning and there wasn’t a new beta so.

Yes, occasionally happens to me. Funnily enough happened this very morning roundabout 1030 UK time. But was very quick. Had a notification saying cameras have changed status to recording because everyone had left home then immediately followed by another status saying cameras are now streaming because somebody arrived home. I’ve had this issue on and off for months but it is so rare that I don’t bother reporting it now.

The conversation is regarding removing apps from the list of available apps within iMessage.

I see that now. These convos take twists and turns. I think the options are the same, just done differently. It's odd there's no way to remove an app from Messages, without removing it from the home screen. I had not realized that. But at least the iMessage apps are out of the way. The ones I don't use don't bother me.

iOS 17 b4 has been the most buggy of all the betas so far. Very few fixed issues, but introduced much more severe issues with menus and core opera ruins including the Settings.

Address Book is bad glitch-filled. Aggravating.
