Folks that are updating from Beta 7. How was battery in Beta 7?

Fine, maybe check the dedicated battery health thread pinned to the top of the iOS 17 board on the forum though for a better idea.

I’m going to hit that “download tonight” button

😆😂🤥
Haha, I’d never believe you would be that patient, by choice!

So this is beta 8 and I’m still having the issue where 3rd party apps are taking up more data/cache with minimal use and filling up my storage quickly. I’ve sent multiple feedback about this issue. I know I’m not the only one having this problem

And I predict that … (non)mysteriously … it will go away as soon as you install the Release Candidate and all the logging and analytic files are removed.

Mail keeps telling me that my network settings are preventing content from being loaded.

In other words, no images are loading in my email.

I've had Mail Privacy Protection on since it debuted, including the last beta. I hadn't had issues til now.

Edit: Rebooting resolved it.

I think you’re referring to the system data bug that some people have. Mine is that 3rd party apps take up more data/chache just by barely being used. This is the first time I’ve ever had this issue with any betas. iOS 16 and prior betas never did this. Not sure why it’s doing it on iOS 17

I haven’t had this issue before but I’m seeing it on b8. YouTube & Paramount+ at almost 1GB and Tesla at 600MB and so on. Funnily enough the overall usage dropped by 5GB from before b8. Used to be 132GB and now it’s at 127GB.

I think you are still going to see this resolve itself with the RC.

I still think what I & @gwhizkids are saying still stands, as it’s so close to the other issue, it has to be connected, and since that goes away with RC, your issue will too.

Theres not much can do though, just have to wait and see, as you’ve logged the issue with Apple. We could be wrong, but we’ll see in 2 weeks.

Is “significant locations” essential for anything else or can it be disabled?
I've never had it enabled and it hasn't had any negative effect. I don't use Apple Maps as it's useless here where I live.

However, I believe it's used for optimised charging. That will never work for me anyway, as I charge my phone nightly when my phone is turned off.

Yea that’s exactly the issue I’m having. My YouTube goes to 1gig or more with just watching a few videos.
