iOS 18.1 Beta 7 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

Not experiencing any of that. Guess the one’s who worked on my versions were at the office.
I’ve just updated my 15 Pro Max beta 7, and it seems solid so far. It’s just like beta 6, except the phone feels warmer than usual, which is expected after an update. I’ll keep an eye on how it goes for the next few days.
Anyone here with a Pro Max (15/16) that uses Discord? On iOS 18.0.1, both with my 15PM and 16PM; stock keyboard lags like crazy with Discord and only Discord (I’ve heard reports of WhatsApp as well). My wife doesn’t have an issue on her 16 Pro. Curious to know if it’s better in iOS 18.1 or if it’s just a Discord specific bug.
I had keyboard issues on discord & iMessage on iOS 18.1 beta all the way up until either beta 6 or 7. I can't quite quite remember which. It's been solved for me now.

Regarding keyboard lag, I believe it has significantly improved in beta 6, although I can still detect a slight delay. A solution that resolved my issue was disabling camera controls in Accessibility. After installing beta 7 and re-enabling the camera controls in Accessibility, the keyboard lag has not reappeared. I hope this truly resolves the keyboard lag.
15PM here. Jumped on the train with b7/pb4.
*Slightly* warm for a few minutes after installation, but comfortably cool since then.
Everything is smooth. The apps I’ve used work as expected. CarPlay smooth and CarPlay apps work as expected.
It’s early days, but so far I couldn’t be happier.

Anybody having trouble with website certificates? It’s like 2 of every 3 websites I visit on this version ends up telling me I can’t access the website due to certificate issues. I can’t even access any Apple websites at all right now. Very annoying.
Edit: Next morning, it appears that the sites I had trouble with, I no longer do. Maybe it was an iCloud Private Relay issue, not sure. Just glad it's fixed, it was very much a hassle to not be allowed to go to every few websites I tried.

Same here all of a sudden for a few sites. BUT I’m running 18.0.1 on a 16P. 🤷
Go back to 17 then. Easy if you did all your back ups. The restore will do you phone by the sounds of its state.
And it’s been great for me 18. For such a big AI integration it’s all been very smooth.
I have keyboard lag since ios 17 and it’s been even worse since iOS 18. I’ve been looking for a solution online, but they don’t work 😢. Was hoping 18.1 would fix it.
I find it strange that not more people notice it. I notice it on my 12 mini and 15 pro, but not M1 iPad Pro 🤷♂️
I just found a “solution” it seems. I turned off dual language keyboard and added them as separate keyboards. It feels like there is definitely less lag.
This has also been happening to me on 18.0.1 and an iPhone 16 Pro.
Started a few hours ago and happens occasionally…
Fortunately I don‘t have these issues. My biggest issues are:
- doesn‘t work on certain wifi setups (Google Messages works on all)
- Group messages aren‘t up to spec (you can downgrade a RCS group to MMS, which makes zero sense cause the 2 technologies aren‘t compatible)
- Somewhat unreliable without any obvious cue as to what‘s wrong (full 5G + top speed, everything but RCS works).
No bugs (yet) and everything running fast & smooth this morning following the update on my 15PM last night. Lost 3% battery overnight but this should settle down. Previous 18.1 betas have been great with battery life.
Bugs ? Not sure when this was introduced for me since I’ve only started using it with this release. Using clean up tool in photos after a few undos the photos app crashes / closes.
