We had people complaining about 17.7.2 too but you have a good experience. You'll never know how the experience will be until you update yourself. It always the same game with every update.
I usually check this MR thread. If there are still lot of complaints after 2 weeks, I will wait another version.

I don’t notice any differences from 18.2 on either iPhone or iPad. Haven’t spotted any fixed bugs. The remote control widget still reappears for me in the control centre after a restart even though I didn’t add it (this is the only bug I actually have).

I’m happy that the update, as yet, doesn’t seem to have broken anything.

Hi, since updating to iOS 18.2 Microsoft Authenticator doesn't give me push notifications. I have to open the app and then I get the notification. The issue is still here after updating to iOS 18.2.1
other friends with same iOS do get the notifications. I cannot uninstall and re install the app since i will loose everything i have there....does this happen to other people too?

18.2 never seemed to be able to connect to Apple Devices. I am hoping this update fixes this. It was a problem with iOS as Apple Devices has not been updated within the past month afaik

I updated last night and the volume of the ringer and notifications went down when I did it. The shortcuts app and the shortcuts I have created from the share menu have also disappeared. The truth is that I don't notice any correction and I've only noticed oddities like the one with the shortcuts app.

Edit: I have also noticed that the auto-completion of words is much worse. Words and phrases that were recommended to me in iOS 18.2, are no longer recommended.

Updated to 18.2.1 and Siri is already bugged straight from the first usage. It’s turned into a keyboard and I can’t see anything. This has literally made Siri nearly unusable within the first few minutes of installation

photos widget still broken in 18.2.1 - no photos available
been like this since 18.2

guess will be waiting for it to be fixed in 18.3 or iOS 19 at this point

I'm getting the push notifications...

After updating to 18.2.1 (OTA) the iPhone still is no longer recognized in Apple Devices as connected when it is plugged in. Leaving me with no functional method to conduct a local backup.

Siri and ChatGPT requests are not working. It says Sorry, something went wrong. Visual Intelligence ask and search are not working as well. Anyone else having this issue?

Mail app still freezes after clicking on a new mail notification, most of the time. Really annoying and was hoping this would fix it. Anybody else have this?
Yup and it's annoying.
I remember having to do an emergency install of iOS 18 on a spare 13PP, and when went into mail with a new one coming thru a message on the bottom said "categorising" or something like that.
It's one of the many annoying quirks of iOS 18. Hopefully 18 is a beta for 19

Anyone else’s iPhone seem to last longer when they charge using a 5W charger vs a fast charger?

In terms of the battery, I’ve seen this first hand - my first three iPhone Pro’s were all charged using the older 5w block charger Apple used to ship with their devices and I continued to use them with my 12/13/14 Pro’s and all of them had 100% capacity reported in iOS when I traded them in.

I switched to a 15w MagSafe charger and 20w Apple block charger for my iPhone 15 Pro and bam, traded it in with 87% capacity.

I’m not talking about battery health though but the actual battery charge.

With 20W charger I’d see it drain faster from 100% and even sudden drops of 3-5% or more during the day. But when using a 5W brick the drop is more gradual and battery seems to hold the charge longer.

I’d managed to get 8.5hr SOT on 5W for about 78% of battery. Used a faster brick and I’m already down 27% for 2.5hr usage which comes to 9hr for 100%.

I’ve tried calibrating but no diff.
Battery health @89%.

The recent calls screen is divided into two sections. One for recent callers who didn't leave voicemails and one for those who did.

Update: Nevermind. That's only after you tap on the search field.

Just a quick heads up from a "support" perspective.
Some users (including myslef) got a screen after the update asking the user to connect to a wifi network and also to make a decision regarding Stolen Device Protection (SDP). This happened to some of my devices (have a bunch of different devices).
If you are in a "support role" it might be a good idea to prepare for this.

I didn't get this on my private phone and it might be related to that I had already activated SDP.

I'm not getting email notifications coming through to the lock screen. Checked Notification settings and everything is enabled. I can hear the noise, just no banners or anything. Tried restarting the phone. Any ideas?
