You use Siri. Describe what you want and say “generate an image of xxxxxxx using ChatGPT”. It’ll pop up with the standard save icon and such right there
Not sure why I’d ever want to do that, though. Might as well use the ChatGPT app then if I didn’t like what Image Playground did for me. Or more likely, I’d use a purpose-built local AI image generator like Draw Things. Can’t wait until apps like that implement the Assistant App Intents etc. that will allow Siri to control and use them instead of needing to use an extension.

Yikes. Baked-in tools with subscriptions.
I know. What a disappointment. Apple bought Siri, and we got it for free.

Apple bought Shazam, and we got it for free.

But Apple invested in (or is "collaborating with") OpenAI, and we aren't even getting a discount on the price of the ChapGPT subscription.

They need to fix this.

You bring up an interesting point. Yes, for the free queries. For someone who has a subscription there has been no statement. Do new or existing subscribers have to pay Apple? Unknown.

I think the image in the article answers this.

There’s the privacy covers but also. I don’t understand who pays $20 a month. How much chatfpt are you using. Also why did they turn off the developer credits that could be used with Petey - charge per request.

It won’t be popular here I’m sure but I do use copilot at work a fair bit - and it’s been transformational. It’s possible I just don’t see the help this gives me over other, probably better tools for work.

Maybe apple can focus on adding rsvp responses to the most common mail server in existence instead of building more ai into the os.

The article references two different levels of ChatGPT processing power that a non-subscribed user has: "Users have access to a small number of requests that use the most advanced ChatGPT capabilities, and requests are downgraded to a basic version of ChatGPT after that."

By default a ChatGPT request should go to the basic level, with the ability to select which level when it asks us about sending the query to ChatGPT. (If that is current behavior, my apologies, that's not clear from the article.)

That is how it works.

For ChatGPT to be profitable, prices need to go up significantly from here. The price will at least double over the coming years. I don't think there is much room for special deals for Apple customers. There already is a "Pro" subscription for 200 dollar per month by the way.
