What issue are you having? I struggled with Mail saying it's downloading mail but it wouldn't show them until minutes later. Turns out it was PiHole and it's default blocking of Private Relay. Once I added the appropriate line to the config file it started to work great.
Yeah, so mine says updating for about a minute then goes to downloading # of messages, but never populates the messages. Not for several minutes. What did you do exactly to fix yours?

Acknowledged. Now, did they? The final step of the update is to give the updated Mint carrier bundle with included RCS settings to Apple for them to add in their next iOS update. So is it there? They said in September it would take until "at least December."
Presumably, Mint will let it's customers know, when it's available.

I added the following line to /etc/pihole/pihole-FTL.conf and restarted PiHole. It's worked great since.

Code:
BLOCK_ICLOUD_PR=false

Mine isn't iCloud email though. I have a Gmail account, Imap work email, and yahoo email, and all of them are doing the same thing.

It can still cause issues because Mail also downloads images from third party email providers using their Private Relay servers, if you have mail privacy turned on (and sometimes even if it's off, must be a bug). If you change that setting you should be good.

Mail is still broken. Off to a great start.

My mail (six accounts: corporate, 2 personal gmail accounts, iCloud, a google account for a project I'm helping some folks with, and a custom/hobby domain with 3rd party hosted mail) works just fine post 18.3 install. What problems are you having?

Which setting should I change?

Listed above, but I get the "checking for mail" that stays for a minute or two, then I get the "downloading messages" that never download. If they do download, it's minutes later.

If you have a Pihole or any network-based ad blocker like that, make sure they are not blocking iCloud-related services (or temporarily turn them off altogether to see if that's the cause).

You could also try to go to Settings -> Apps -> Mail -> Privacy protection, and turn off "Protect mail activity", as that will pipe data through Apple's servers (a bit like iCloud Private Relay but for Mail).

My email is a Gmail account as well. Based on comments I've seen on Reddit and other piHole discussions it seems Mail in 18.2 uses private relay for some things even though the feature is turned off in your iCloud settings. All I can say is that since I added this to my piHole configuration email has worked perfectly while still blocking ads as expected. Try it out, if you use PiHole I'm sure it'll solve your problem.

I had all those off and it didn't help. The only thing that helped for me was the conf file change I mentioned earlier in the thread.

No ad blocker in settings, and I have "Protect mail activity" turned off.
Apologies if I’ve already said this, but deleting my accounts and reinstalling fixed this for me.
Interesting, I guess that is my next step. I wonder what this does to fix it.

Carrier version for iD Mobile UK is 61.6.1 and for Giffgaff it’s 61.6.2 and am guessing same for O2 if you could update that please.
