Additional Notes

To get the beta over-the-air:
  1. Enable Beta Updates (Settings > General > Software Updates > Beta Updates)
  2. Make sure you’re signed into the right Apple Account
  3. Select which beta you’d like to receive (public/developer beta)
  4. Hit "Back" and pull down to refresh
  5. Back up to a computer or to iCloud
  6. Install the beta
If you no longer wish to receive beta updates:
  1. Turn off the Beta Updates (you can also sign out of your Apple Account to reset this setting)
  2. Wait for the next public release or follow the guide below to go back to a release build
Troubleshooting: If the beta doesn’t show up on your phone, try turning on airplane mode, then turning it back off, or restart your device.

How to install using a Mac?
  1. You’ll need the Xcode beta itself or a MobileDevice.pkg somebody extracted from the beta (click with two fingers or control-click), then choose Show Package Contents. Go to Contents/Resources/Packages. - this will work on older Macs that do not support the latest macOS or Xcode betas)
  2. Back up to your Mac or to iCloud in case you need to go back to another version
  3. Hold down Option, then click on ‘Check for Update’/‘Restore iPhone...’ and select the IPSW file you downloaded from the Apple Developer site. Note: You must be connected to the internet to complete the restore.
  4. Enter your iPhone passcode if you’re prompted to do so.
Notes/Tips:
  • Always keep a backup in case you need to restore your phone
  • Restoring wipes your settings and all data on your iPhone
  • You only need to reinstall MobileDevice.pkg if your Mac stops recognizing your iPhone
  • There is no MobileDevice.pkg equivalent to iTunes for PC which would require a new iTunes to support new/beta iOS
  • Upgrading to a newer iPhone? You can update using your Mac before setting up the phone

Tweaks to notification summaries. They are now italicized - here's a screen of the 'summarized by apple intellignece' I can't seem to find it anymore.

Yeah I noticed that too. Was about to say this, but was ninja'd!

Also, mail still freezing when opening from a notification. Going to the inbox and freezing there for about 6 seconds, then you can tap on the email and read it. It's supposed to go straight to the message.

What do you mean? It’s been fine for me.

For me, all app switcher previews are way oversaturated. This has been an issues since 18.1 and has not been fixed. Playback on my HomePods randomly stops when I AirPlay to them. Let alone all the issues with mail that countless people are reporting…

What do you mean? It’s been fine for me.
Stutters, lock ups, etc. features being removed because they don’t work. Or not even being deployed and swept under the rug.

They aren’t end of the world, but the polish I bought into Apple for is not what I feel it was once.

Someone posted it runs smoother and that is great news. My 15 PM shouldn’t be running better than my 16 PM phone is a great example.

My 16 Plus has been kinda weird in 18.2.1. Constant little freezes and stutters while swiping up etc. Hope 18.3 fixes this.
This is exactly what I'm talking about! Glad others have similar issues as it does this on 3 devices as well here and have re installed the OS from scratch and nada.

Seems they're rolling back a bit on AI summaries in this beta.

Not that I notice; my iPhone 11 is running this beta as well as all the previous ones. No issues. Even my mail accounts work properly (I have 2 gmail accounts, one icloud, one outlook and 3 "other" IMAP accounts).
