Much smoother on this beta than beta 2. I opted for public beta 3 then I was before beta 2 Developer. Would that make a difference? IP16P

No. The software (i.e., the code) for the public beta version is exactly the same as for the corresponding developer beta version. The only difference is the timing of when each is released.

Would you guys say that 18.3 beta 3 is smoother overall than 18.2.1 / 18.2 on a 16PM?
I don't see how it would be different on PM, but no real difference on 16P. They need to improve ProMotion and also change how transparency and animated widgets on the homescreen are being rendered for any real performance changes. Now it's only smooth with bone stock setup but falls apart when you do any customization or restore from backup. Many apps also get a significant performance improvement once you reduce motion for them explicitly which is weird. You shouldn't need to do that on the newest top of the line iOS device. I simply want a smooth 120Hz scrolling everywhere including the apps, is that too much to ask? :)

Smooth as silk for me. Lots of widgets.

Just get rid of notification summaries all together. How is this helpful? Obviously these are several different packages but just glancing at it, is my package 10 stops away? Or delivered successfully? Or coming tomorrow?

That's why you can disable it for some apps where you think it doesn't make sense. But I do find it very useful for messaging apps, especially for those friends who send 10 messages to say something that would have fit into 1.

Isn’t that helpful to know things are moving? And then reasoning it’s probably delivered? It’s like unintentional click-bait!

I find the summaries great, and I get it and rather enjoy that it’s not quite right sometimes. It gives me a laff

Early FSD on my Tesla had me and friends laughing so hard we nearly cried a few times. One time we came across tons of cones in a construction zone that had the car just STRUGGLING, jittering like an unsure child.. and now that never happens

Early visuals were a gas too, like people walking when no one was there. Or strange vehicles showing up on the screen.. reminds me of old gaming where the glitching was rather fun back in the early days of at-home consoles or Commodores

Love early beta testing.. it’s a gas. Make fun of it, have a laugh.. and before you know it you’ll have correct AI and FSD and look for the next early tech to test and goof with..

How many different apps/scenarios did Apple test it on to where they felt it was worthy of beta release? Are they going to have a beta tag on Apple Intelligence forever and use that as an excuse whenever something doesn’t make sense?

New issue (for me, anyway). I can’t move apps to other pages. I can move them on the same page, but when I drag one to the edge of the screen nothing happens.
iP 14 PM. iOS 18.3 b3.

I nearly smashed my phone
Searching for messages iMessage SMS RCS yields zero results
What an epic piece of stit

With all the hype regarding Apple Intelligence, combined with ChatGPT, typing a text message, or responding to Facebook posts, the keyboard word prediction is no more intuitive than before. Having had several Google Pixel phones to compare, Apple isn’t even close in its ability to predict and suggest, based on what I’m commenting about. As a simple example, iOS doesn’t suggest “you” when I type the word “Thank.” Too much emphasis on voice to text and not nearly enough on keyboard to text.
