IPhone 13 Pro Max, Battery health -86%
Second day on IOS 18 beta 1 and battery seems to be almost if not identical to ios 17.5.1. Unplugged it at 7AM this morning, Currently it is14:48 and sitting at 68% with 3 Hours 10min screen on time. I have never seen this type of battery life from a first beta. No heating issues at all.

Currently using iOS 18 Dev beta on iPhone 15 Pro Max. Battery life 100% @ 06:30. Battery life 59% @ 10:56. On iOS 17.4.1 from 100% to about now I’d be sitting at 70-80 with normal light use at work.
Has been the same for me running a 15 Pro. Massive battery drainage doing really basic things. No gaming because I have an iPad for that. On the other hand I installed the iPad OS 18 beta on my M1 11” iPad Pro and the battery hasn’t been stellar on that either.

Well something is wrong with mine. Down to 37% on an iPhone 15 Pro in 12 hours of light usage. I am usually around 70-75% around this time of day.

I'm having the same issue. It was slightly better today, but I'm currently at 17% on my 15 Pro Max, was at 100% at 7am this morning, not a significant amount of usage in the 9 hours I was at work.

After I first installed iOS 18, and after the regular indexing phase, it felt like the battery life was still normal. But, after using it a few days, battery life is noticeably worse. I'm not throwing it on the charger any more than I normally would. Though, at the end of my work day, it might be at 30-40% vs the usual 50-60%. I don't think I'm using it any more than normal, but have been playing around with some of the new Home Screen customizations more through the day. And my new workplace doesn't have wifi yet (moved in June 1), so a bit hard for me to gauge.

For reference, my 14 Pro is at 85% capacity.

Trying to decide to jump aboard. Is the general consensus that battery is pants, or decent. 15 Pro Max here.
Until I can get some genmoji, you will have to settle for this Adobe Firefly image:

On my 13 pro max I honestly can’t see any difference in battery life between IOS 18 and IOS 17.5.1. No overheating everything seems normal.

I forgot to wear my Apple Watch today and my battery is back to normal again. I think something might be wrong with the bluetooth stack. That or it just mellowed out after a couple days of crap.

So it’s the same like with iOS 17.5.1? There is also Bluetooth problems - wearing my AW drains battery much faster than without the AW…

I installed iOS 18 on Monday. Everything seemed okay. But today my 14PM got really hot 🥵 and the battery drained. In the battery app I saw that Sound Recognition was the culprit. It has since been disabled.

Can you show me where to find sound recognition ?

Edit: found it and its off

I will stay at WatchOS 10.5 and iOS 18 Beta 1 until official launch of iOS 18 this fall

I’ve got the 15 Pro and based on the feedback here it seems the 15 Pro and Max are experiencing some issues with battery life. I may hold off until Beta 2 or 3 to see if it gets better before I take the plunge knowing full well that battery optimization seems to be some of the last things they do in the beta cycle.

Is the general consensus that where normally after a full day of work you’d be at 60% or slightly higher and now you’re at 40%? I can live with that but I do have an Apple Watch so if maintaining a Bluetooth connection drains it further maybe I’ll hold off. 30%+ after 9 hours I can live with.

So I have been using it on my iPhon 15 pro since and I would say it’s the worst 😆I also sent a feedback that the battery percentage is inconsistent

Forgot to put 14 Pro Max on the charger last night. It’s AWFUL at idle!

I never saw this on iOS 16/17 with the Always–On Display still turned on.

This idle drain I experienced on iOS 17.5.1 or even more …
Now on iOS 18 Beta 1 it’s much better - strange how different the experience can be 😂

I set up an automation to turn off the Bluetooth when the phone connects to my home WiFi which is 80% of my days (I work from home). The watch uses WiFi at home as well so I have not noticed any disadvantage of not having it connected to my phone at home.

I noticed „Find My“ stopped constantly running that way.

Same here. As long the watch is paired battery drain…
I have an AW9 45mm cellular (7 months old) running beta WatchOS, 15 ProMax (about 2 weeks old) running aios beta, one IPP running beta and 1 not, and an MBA running beta. No issues with the exception of 1 camera app. Battery life unchanged
