Don’t have any lag at all with my 15PM, strange…
I thought it might be that I am using the 14PM and its showing its age, but I have seen other people here with 15PM having the same issue.

It was so good on betas 4 and 5, and then got worse.

How would you describe this keyboard lag, can’t imagine it, that’s why I ask

So, there are a couple of issues. So one dates all the way back to iOS 12. Wild I know. This one starts when you first open messages or IG messages anything like that. When you go to type, you type your first few letter and nothing appears on the screen. Then suddenly it quickly types it all. That stops quickly after you start typing. It got fixed in iOS 15 and 16, but came back in iOS 17. Who the hell knows how that works.

2nd one, this has been new for iOS 18. Now the lag from the beginning of the text still can happen, but everything seems normal, but the UI is just sluggish. You type it takes a second for it to appear on the screen. It feels like you are kind of typing in slow motion. Kind of hard to describe. It sucks.

How would he know? Also we still have a few weeks until RC...

He wouldn’t, but that’s not what his tweet said.

He said it’s final, but that’s doesn’t mean that there won’t be betas between now and RC. Missquote of the tweet.

Think we’ve entered the more „boring“ stage of the betas where mostly bugfixes are happening and no more visible changes.
Sad for the call button in the recent calls overview.
That’s what I like to hear, now it’s time for me to install.

I miss the days where I was a beta 1 on all devices person.

This seems to be the final beta before the full version is released per Mark Gurman
That's expected given the timetable of the phone release. However, it's also disappointing as all the springboard updates just feel par-baked still. In dark mode, my icons can be light in everything but the Settings app. The widget/icon placement on the home screen and in control center is still wonky, with things floating up instead of where you wanted them. The word Paste is sometimes missing, but the empty box still works to paste. And they moved onto 18.1 so fast that there was very little listening to feedback and making changes that felt user-centric. They are probably already getting started on 18.2 development, so hope they tighten some of this up, but it is not a very impressive .0 release.

This! This happens all the time. These things get push back to one of the . updates.
Well I see no logic in that. Misdials while scrolling Recents and accidental calls if the other party ended call before you are one of the major flaws in iOS since I remember it. Anyone who calls and receives calls everyday should confirm it. So so unhappy with this decision. As for the call button to appear during search only I see no profit from that. What to tap the contact name what to tap the call button. Doesn't save me from something.

Doesnt make much sense to me either. I dont know what the thinking was, unless there was some issues with it. I never tested when it was there.

I noticed somewhere around DP5 or 6 the Photos share sheet changed to ONLY show Instagram options and other apps... but NOT the individual iMessage or AirDrop contacts... and DP7 is the same... did I miss something? I didn't see a "share sheet" edit option anywhere...
