Hopefully this one is more polished behind the scenes. The current public beta has been horrible for my battery life and phone temperature. The previous betas were all much better.

Doesnt make much sense to me either. I dont know what the thinking was, unless there was some issues with it. I never tested when it was there.
For that reason I almost never use Recents besides to call back any number not in contacts. I always use spotlight and tap the little call button next to the result. I receive calls during night because of the nature of my work and constantly made accidental calls in the middle of the night. Also I end call by tapping the side hardware button, not the end call button on the screen.

Yeah seems like a step backwards, but again I never tested it the way that you and lots of others like it. We will see if they add it back.

Screentime "Content & Privacy Restrictions" don't seem to be working. I have "Passcode & Face ID", "Accounts" and "Cellular Data" set to "Don't allow" under a password, but I am still able to change them.

At least for now, the new interface is considered part of the Apple Intelligence feature set, which is in fact limited to the 15 Pro/Pro Max.

Will that change in the future? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
For sure it won’t. Apple wants to sell new phones. We saw it already in an increasing amount that software features are locked behind newer models.
Not a huge issue, I own a 15 Pro but having the whole screen wobbling and shimmering while using Siri is something I couldn’t care less about.

Gurman said on his twitter, that now only bug fixes will be added to the next beta updates, no new features.
That’s good I guess, maybe we get a ice cold and long living 15 PM 😂
…of course all the other phones with iOS 18 out there too!
But as my iPhone is an 15 PM I care much more about optimization for this specific version 🤣

hahaha we can hope ice cold for this beta. Are you planning on keeping that 15PM for a bit?

As brought up by ValentBay in the beta 7 article discussion, when icon customization is set to dark the wallpaper darkens with the icons, when set to automatic the wallpaper does not darken with the icons when system dark mode in enabled. Seems like a bug.

Just hoped on the beta for the first time this cycle, my god are the no label big Home Screen icons huge. Wish I could just remove the labels. Is anyone using this customization?
Sure and I love the new icons size without annoying labels underneath it

If you tap the brightness icon (upper left corner of the Customize section), it will brighten up the background...
