grad to hear you are happy with the photo app upgrade.

to me, it is the worst upgrade i ve ever seen since IOS13.

the grid view now looks boring as it shows squared thumbnails only. in previous ver, some of the photo thumbnails are shown bigger than the others, with some in zoomed in view. it looks more energetic.

the change that i could not understand is the relatively thick gap kept between photos in grid view, hence a lot of display estates is wasted. even unbelievable is the gap size remain the same when the row size changed from 3 photo to 5 photos, thus effectively 6 nos of gap space wasted, 4 between photos and 2 on both leftmost and rightmost.
I didn’t upgrade yet.

I think the iOS 18 upgrade has not been fully tested in different display mode and different form factors of mobiles.

In zoomed mode (vs standard mode), the prompt for filling in username and password by password app is unnecessarily large, it occupies 1/2 of the display area of my ip13.

Also there are lots of display estates wastes in the new UI, in particular that in different grid view (except that in library) n photo app, and the empty space on either side of the new control centre.

The waste of display area may not as obvious in large screen mobiles but very noticeable in smaller screen mobile such as ip se and ip13, in which the control buttons look exceptionally smaller while empty display space is wasted in between thumbnails and on either sides of the control center.

Well I’ve been struggling to totally setup my iPhone 16 Pro. Amazon Ring, RoboKiller call blocker and even Siri seem to not work or be glitchy. Maybe I’ve shot my self trying to adjust this apps. to work with the new iOS. I’ve called Apple almost every day this week and they were very helpful. But a lot of the things I needed to find and adjust just seem to have moved. Again it could be me, as maybe of switched on/of trying to get apps to work together?

I know I haven’t given useful details. I’m just wondering if anyone else has struggle more with this version of iOS. It was the first official 18 iOS released. And I did update it to the unchanged named iOS18 a day or so ago.
