Is it the same procedure as with the betas? Or it’s just like installing a final version IPSW? I’m asking this because I tried doing a Finder install/restore of the beta and I wasn’t able to. However I’ve performed many ”clean installs” in the past without issues…
Is not the huge RC file (likely to be around 6+GB for all) essentially the same as that IPSW file we would need to download? If so, perhaps it’s worth it to just try this big OTA first and, should things go wrong, go the IPSW route?
OG HomePods are not capable or compatible for betas, so next week.Is it too soon to panic, since my OG HomePods aren't getting the 18.0 RC, or should I hold off til next Monday for the public release?
I was getting the 18 betas on them until 17.6 release came out. I swear I'm not crazy.OG HomePods are not capable or compatible for betas, so next week.
Although it’s a HomePod mini, I’ve just received the RC. It’s just enabled adaptive lighting on my Hue lights.I was getting the 18 betas on them until 17.6 release came out. I swear I'm not crazy.
Your asking different questions, going off on a different route to the point I was messaging about.
I'm just saying it's a good time to do an IPSW update after all the buggy betas as we have the final build now. It's good maintenance for your phone to do a full reinstall of the iOS.
I never bothered, all this time.I am just wondering if an IPSW installation is in any way better than a “full-sized” OTA?
