If they fulfill their promise to release the first beta of version x.1 each year a week after the official release, we won't see the beta of iOS 18.1 this week either. I cross my fingers that I'm wrong 🤞

I have a strong feeling beta 4 will have Genmoji. Even beta 3 has it but it’s hidden. I was texting someone yesterday and went to search for an emoji only for the  intelligence symbol to pop up above the keyboard recommending I describe my emoji instead and have it generated by genmoji. Once I clicked it it said it had to download data from  before the feature could work and then it froze and I reset iMessage. I have not been able to recreate it for whatever reason but if anyone else has figured it out please let me know.

I suggested that was because you need to update to 18.1 beta 3 from the iPhone 16 factory build, before you can install beta 4.

remember this note
  • Updating from iOS & iPadOS 18 beta 5 to iOS & iPadOS 18.1 beta 1 is not currently supported and will be available in a future iOS & iPadOS 18.1 beta. (133235636)
@Realityck Do you have the compilation numbers?

It shows the 17.7 update but if you scroll to the bottom of that same page I had the upgrade to 18 button as well. Downloading now. Said 4 mins to DL which is suspiciously quick, no?

But you can install 18.1 beta 4 on the iPhone 16 and restore from a beta 3 backup. You can restore from earlier software, but not newer software.

Weird, I had to go in and reenable the dev beta option, had turned itself off for some reason. Nothing for me tho as I pretty much expected so no surprise.
