like I said it would be silly to make 50 million of us have to all redownload an update because less than 1,000 on certain device had an issue

Technically no one has to download anything. If you updated and it's fine, then just don't update.
yes but I like to leave my automatic updates on, I know that's nitpicky. Plus I think youd have to update to the new to get to update after that

What are the chances that now iOS 18 out to the public and there is a mass outage of the new photos design that they give users the option to revert back? Because that’s the only reason I am staying on iOS 17

Looking at the clickbait enablers on YouTube and I am not seeing the "Why you should not update to iOS 18.0" videos so much. Most are saying finally Apple has done good. I don't put any stock in most of them but this is motivating me even more to go from my 14 Pro Max to the 16 Pro Max so I can get all of the "goodies".

Zero.

Ah yes: here we go with the “we need an “X.x.1” release.

Honestly people: give it a rest. There will always be bugs. Always.

Due to the Digital Markets Act, Apple Intelligence will not be available on the iPhone and iPad in the EU, with the features limited to Macs with the M1 chip or newer there. Apple said it is discussing this issue with the European Commission.

Ios 18 was very stable outside the snafu of the M4 situation. I would welcome a .x.1 release though if that's the way they fixed the situation

But it won’t be the way they fix the situation. That’s too fundamental of a problem for a bug fix release. And it only affects some.

What’s the point of releasing a new general release version if it addresses only problems experienced by people who are not actually yet on the release? No, they’ll simply fix the installer issue and release it again as 18.0 but perhaps with a different build number for the M4 iPads pro.

i think we will see a iOS 18.0.1 update sooner rather then later anyway based off what has always happened in the past either this week or the following week

17.0 > 17.0.1 was only a couple days
16.0 > 16.0.1 was day one update for the new phones, 16.0.2 was 2 weeks after 16

i cant see 18.1 being the next public release

This is so interesting to a person who still has a foot in the PC world. Over there we dread updates. Here they are demanded, and looked forward too. Yes they might be fixing something, but it is so different on the PC side of things.
Well people look forward to it and demand it, but then when they get it they complain about the bugs. I guess the PC world has accepted new software means problems, Apple folks think it will be smooth sailing with no issues. Just is impossible on new software.

the most classic is people complaining about battery drain after every update
