Just proves that posing as an expert doesn’t make you an actual expert:rolleyes:
Does he pose as an expert though? Or is he just another YouTuber? (Seriously asking cause I don’t follow him on social media)

I always wondered why people quote him here so much if he’s not a reporter or an analyst or insider of any kind.

He has an eye for spotting the minute changes in the UI and the videos are quite thorough which gives the viewers a sense of an expert or know-it-all.

From his previous guesses I’d say he doesn’t have any insider track but would say it confidently regardless. That combined with the thoroughness of his videos gives ppl false confidence about the accuracy of his claims. But in the end he’s using the past data just like the rest of us.

That said, his videos are useful for a major iOS release if ppl would like to know all the tiny changes/improvements that don’t get mentioned in the keynote.

No argument there. His videos are very thorough and informative.

iOS 18.1 is definitely close to being ready for release. I am personally seeing few issues and my battery life is superb.

My saying that and my own personal experiences, however, won’t make it come out any sooner.

I still expect it in 13–14 days.
I’m thinking Apple wants iOS 18.1 beta out sooner than later. So we may see RC today and public release next week.

Then off to iOS 18.2 betas. 😁

I agree with all the commercials and stuff I am sure they want it out. But looking at the thread it doesn't appear to be ready for prime time. I think we have another beta or two, maybe then the RC / public release.

They very much have enough issues with released 18.0 as it seems, e.g. touch screen issues… Think they need to get this a bit more under control, a bit shaky right now. Could they even plan to kill two birds with one stone, take more time in 18.1 which would include all fixes? More likely would be a quick 18.0.1 and perhaps be more careful with the quality of 18.1…?

18.0.1 was confirmed by MacRumors (source: their website analytics logs).

It’s coming soon. The question is when.

That’s actually a good thought.

Yes, an 18.0.1 exists. However, that doesn’t mean it’s necessarily going to be released if it’s colliding with the release path for 18.1.

I think having 18.0.1 disappear is unlikely, but it’s not totally out of the question.
