I got the Mail splash screen. Interestingly, it’s touting a feature — Smart Replies — that I don’t think we’ve seen in Mail yet.

I think this was approved by Health Canada, wonder if it is working up here yet.
Have iOS installed, just doing the new watchos beta for today as well. Very glad that macOS was also released today as I experienced a few issues a build back, and I guess that I have been spoiled somewhat by having very stable beta releases for some time now. Looking forward to more years of improvements and enjoyment of my Apple devices.
I installed beta 6 and showing

Of course it is: they comb through this thread looking for the things we all find.

My amazement is that this feature is coming and yet has not made an appearance at all during the betas. I frankly expected it in 18.2 with the more substantive Mail improvements.

Same.

Looks like things are being drip feed. So maybe a more complete feature filled iOS will be end of 18.4 🤷🏽

I was really impresssed with beta 6 for the first several hours but now it’s reverted back to stutters. Very annoying. Maybe beta 7 or RC will sort this once and for all. I won’t hold my breath.

This must be a hardware defect. Such stutters are not normal, especially if they happen through several software updates.

I’d call Apple or visit an Apple Store

I think we’ll see anything that has been “splash screen promoted” here in 18.1. But possibly not until release. Or they may be turned on server-side at some point between now and release.

But you’re absolutely right that we won’t see the full breadth of Apple Intelligence features until 18.4 in late March (though we beta types will begin seeing the final iOS 18 features in late January…maybe (assuming they don’t hold some back until near the end as is the case here)).

Still 3 weeks to go. Can’t see apple waiting that long between updates when so many new phones are having issues.
Weren't these issues resolved with 18.0.1 already though? Can't say my 16 Pro on 18.0.1 has been a bad experience.

wonder when we are expecting the october event? i know the rumor is 18.1 on october 28th

I’m going to guess that an event or a press release will be on October 28th. Or the event will be the week before with an RC released right after (just like the iPhone event). In that case I’m guessing the 22nd or 23rd for the event.

iOS 15.1 and 17.1 both had two RCs. 16.1 only had one though. With the importance of this update, I am going with a guess of RC1 next week and then RC2 the following week after a Mac event. Public release being on or around the 28th.
