iOS 15.1 and 17.1 both had two RCs. 16.1 only had one though. With the importance of this update, I am going with a guess of RC1 next week and then RC2 the following week after a Mac event. Public release being on or around the 28th.

Not sure why you are programming in an RC2? When Apple calls it a Release Candidate, they mean to release that software unless there’s something seriously wrong with it. They don’t plan on issuing two Release Candidates. If they did the first one wouldn’t really be a Release Candidate but rather just another beta.

while I like the mail/notification summaries, it does feel like AI is going to be a long drawn out affair so now I have my curiousity satisfied and the sleep apnea feature finally here, I think I’m off this horse and back on the non-beta until the final release then stick there.

its been a very stable beta for me (came in beta 2) other than the missing feature from 18.0..

Outside chance of 18.0.2 this week. I would say more next week and sites will start seeing it in their logs.

It gives me that Apple has sold fewer devices than I expected by not giving out to AI worldwide as well as the functions for the Mac, and it will have a lot of Stock, I make this assumption thinking that the one who has an iPhone 14 Pro, would not change it now for a 16 for not being implemented all the features, so I hope that they realize this detail (that they had noticed) and speed up the implementation around the world!!, I know of people who have bought an iPhone 16 Pro Max and before turning 15 Days that they have to return they do it before, not because of the iPhone, but because it has no news and when they want to launch the implementations including AI, well, we will be seeing the iPhone 17 not far away!!! I'll leave it there!! ;):cool:

We'll see when they have the big holiday sales by how long folks will have to wait. If you can still buy one the week of Christmas then you know it's bad.

I seriously doubt many people are returning iPhone 16s because Apple Intelligence is not yet out.

Some, sure. Many? Doubtful.

E.g., 16 PM (Desert Titanium 256 GB) is still on back order with a delivery window of 10/20-11/6 and no local availability.

That anecdotal point of view was concluded as follows, if I know 2 people and they tell me that they return it for that reason (I don't doubt them) there will be many other people in other countries that until 2025 will not be able to use the implementations, and when they want to launch it, you already start to see the iPhone 17, is it an anecdote? I don't know!!

I realize that English is not your first language. But your argument is not a good one.

It is possible that your friends are the only people in the world returning their phones for that reason. That is unlikely but it is just as valid an argument logically as it is to extrapolate that many are returning their phones simply because your friends did.

And this time you did use the word “many”.

I don't know about returns, but I know of several public cases where tech media influencers with a lot of reach have cancelled their 16 Pro Max reservation for this reason. In Spain, the reason for purchase that Apple gives you is a new color and a camera button that seems quite poorly placed. I think these are very weak sales arguments. Outside the US or the English-speaking world, the iPhone 16 is a filler generation, and that seems to be how many consumers have understood it.

Gonna have to disagree 100% with your reasons to purchase. If you really think thats the only two features the 16's have then you need to do a little more reading. Most sites are saying this is the 1st time that the basic phone has more reason to buy than the Pro because of the feature set that are now included with the basic models typically reserved for the Pro. (WAY more than just new color and camera button btw). I for one really have no interest in the AI stuff that doesn't exist yet but will probably be somewhat cool as it rolls out and will nice to have the capabilities (future proof) IF I decide I would like some of it going forward. But it had a very minor influence for me and I suspect a lot others as well. (speculation of course)

New processor, better battery tech for longer usage times, improved Ceramic Shield… I could go on for the reason I upgraded. Also people coming up from 14s this phone is very appealing. And like myself I have friends that change there phones on 2 year cycles as the phones hardware seem to get better upgrades.
