Weird. Can't say I have ever seen this before. WatchOS 11.1 RC release notes are on the Developer site, but the software itself is not available?
Have the release notes ever preceded the software before?

addresses a frustrating bug that was causing some new iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro models to randomly restart.
After updating to the RC of 18.1, I was prompted about letting apple intelligence group my notifications and I picked the none option. I’d like to revisit that feature now and perhaps let apple intelligence group my notifications, where can I configure what type of notifications I’d like to let apple intelligence handle?
Thanks. Do you have that specific feature enabled? I’m not sure how useful it actually isSettings - Notifications - Summarize Previews
Then select all the apps you want the feature on for.

The beta toggle in setting governs if the feedback app appears in any officially released build. Turn it on, it appears, turn it off and it disappears. RC doesn’t have any of the beta telemetry. The fact that installing an RC still includes the Feedback app always makes me think that it’s still operating on some sort of beta level, so my OCD usually forces me to wait for the official public release.
RC same as release and yes betas have logging, RC do not.So is there actually zero differences whatsoever between RCs and public releases? I thought I read somewhere that betas run in debug mode or something which can impact battery and performance. Any truth to that?
This!To elaborate: theoretically every released build should be of equal quality regardless of whether it’s an “a” or “z” build. Each was sufficiently good to pass the quality control tests.
In practice, however, a beta that took 26 tries to get there probably does have some underlying issues. But that’s why the number of builds decreases as we move through the betas: it takes fewer tries to get each beta to release-ready status.
And thisMy understanding is that an RC is identical to a public release in all respects. That’s borne out by the fact that if you are on an RC, more times than not you will stay on that even after the public release precisely because they are identical. Logging and other diagnostics present in the “true” betas are turned off.
Its always there. In beta profile section turn back to "off" and the app icon goes away. The fact that installing an RC still includes the Feedback app always makes me think that it’s still operating on some sort of beta level, so my OCD usually forces me to wait for the official public release.
On 16 it just came on as preparing (no waitlist) and stated needed to be on wifi to download and complete. As soon as on wifi it was on after a minute or two.So I installed 18.1 RC to finally try out apple intelligence yet what I was greeted with was a setting toggle to join a waitlist within the Siri and apple intelligence submenu in the settings app. I thought iOS 18.1 came with apple intelligence built in and ready to use?
No. That just turns on the logs for AI so you can see what you used for AI and in the future, what was processed on-device, Apple Private Cloud Compute and ChatGPT once those get enabled.Does “Apple intelligence Report” need to be enabled for Apple intelligence to function properly? I just came acrosss the setting toggle after going over the newly added settings of ios 18.1 RC
Small correction: Apple Intelligence has been able to tap into Private Cloud Compute since July or August, on earlier betas for 18.1/15.1.No. That just turns on the logs for AI so you can see what you used for AI and in the future, what was processed on-device, Apple Private Cloud Compute and ChatGPT once those get enabled.

It hasn't been released yet but it'll likely come this week ahead of the 18.1 update next week.Anyone get the new firmware for AirPod pro 2?
Apple will release its new iOS 18.1 hearing health features as part of firmware version 7B19 for AirPods Pro 2. So that’s the build number to look out for.
yep, just want all my devices on RC and put my mind behind itI am feeling so frustrated that watchOS 11 RC is not out
those features worked for me in the 18.1 RC with AirPods Pro 2 on 7B13dAnyone get the new firmware for AirPod pro 2?

Your Apple account needs to be US as wellWhat could be the reason that when I updated both my phone and MacBook to 18.1 RC, I can enable Apple Intelligence on my MacBook by switching the system language and Siri's language to US English? However, my iPhone says that Apple Intelligence is currently not available in your country or region even though I changed Siri and System language to US English. I am in the EU
Yes, this is what I thought, but why is Apple Intelligence working on my MacBook and not on iPhone? I’m using the same EU Apple Account on both devices.Your Apple account needs to be US as well
There are different regulations for the smartphones and the laptops in the EU.Yes, this is what I thought, but why is Apple Intelligence working on my MacBook and not on iPhone? I’m using the same EU Apple Account on both devices.
