So, as Gurman didn’t have it right, when will iOS 18.2 launch?
touché, he made a mistake and got the point from others.
Although it could be later, I believe it will be in the coming days. Apple likes a Monday or Tuesday release. This is a very big release so I think Monday, Dec. 9 may be too early.
Exactly
Tuesday, Dec. 10 or Wednesday, Dec. 11 seem the hot favorites to me. Wednesday is my best guess. And despite the EE information mentioned above, I still think it’ll be one of those two, perhaps leaning to the second of them, that is, Dec. 11.
6 days later is Wednesday Dec 11th. Has the best odds. Yes it could happen Tuesday, and that might meet some scheduling commitment that Apple previous made an objective, but there is no hardware justification to rush.

So once 18.2 is released to the public hopefully iOS 18.3 drops the day after.

True, but its would be only 2 business days between Thursday and Monday, is that enough time? Not like its Public release hasn't arrived later in the week sometimes. ;)
If they don’t find any major bugs it will likely be released on Monday imo. Don’t know why they would wait even longer.

Beta users had enough time to report bugs.

iOS 18.2 has to come out early this week. It's very close to the holiday season and if there are underlying bugs that need to be fixed then iOS 18.2.1 can come out next week before we're all on holiday.

Take all of this for fwiw:

“Several sources suggest that Apple plans to release iOS 18.2 today, December 9, 2024. Notable indications include:
• Carrier Updates: British carrier EE announced that, effective December 9, it would discontinue the “Wi-Fi calling on other supported iCloud-connected devices” feature. This change aligns with the anticipated iOS 18.2 release, as carrier updates often coincide with major iOS updates.
• Media Reports: Publications like The Sun have noted that iOS 18.2 is expected imminently, potentially within hours, introducing AI-powered features such as ChatGPT integration and enhancements to Siri.
• Analyst Insights: Industry analysts have observed that Apple typically releases major updates on Mondays and avoids new software changes during the holiday season, making December 9 a plausible release date.

While these indicators point toward a December 9 release, Apple has not officially confirmed the exact date. Therefore, it’s advisable to monitor Apple’s official channels for the most accurate information.”

See y’all at 1pm eastern!

I wonder what 18.3 will have included. I feel like it will have less features but will focuse more on optimizations and bug fixing. The next big update will likely be 18.4 with new Siri.

Well and then we’re close to the next WWDC. Time flies!
