A release tomorrow is possible. I believe I do recall Apple releasing betas on Fridays before, so I think it’s possible and I wouldn’t rule it out. But Monday releases are definitely more common. I’m guessing we’ll get an iOS 18.3 beta before holiday break.

Have we ever seen that long of an hiatus without a beta if in fact it does until the 2nd week of January?
Thanks! I would think they get it out before the holiday break. Seeing as AI is so important, pushing it back past the holiday break seems rather unlikely.
I think that RC1 RC2 and Public being three builds shows that Apple has been pretty heads down on 18.2. My guess would be 18.3 beta 1 next week and then probably nothing till week of the 5th beta wise. Outside chance of 18.2.1 maybe late next week. Most likely we won't see anything week of the 23rd and 30th.
Still think there is a small chance for a dev seed on Friday. Give us all something to look at during the weekend as well as provide feedback earlier before the two week break that most take.
Yeah, that sounds plausible. I dont think they want to leave us without a beta during the holidays and if they give us a beta 1, they better make sure its "semi stable". Release ASAP and amend if something very bad occurs, then leave it cooking and come back in January with a follow-up.Still think there is a small chance for a dev seed on Friday. I'd say there's a remote chance today (say 10-15%) but more likely Monday (80%). Latest possible would be Tuesday (5-10%)

We just don’t know, 18.3 is an example of secrecy with no leaks getting out. Just because they originally said in the footnote from the following:
doesn’t imply that 18.3 is just a bug fix, IMHO that is wasting couple of months time they could be trying to implement features and other language support by April. Looking at how many months 18.1 ran on top of 18.0, it clearly showed Apple struggling to achieve multiple goals to meet committed functionality launches.

Implementing other languages is done by training the AI in that language, but Apple doesn't have as much data as Meta and Google to train it on. That's probably why it takes so long. Yeah, I’m totally with you on that. I think 18.3 could be bigger than some people are expecting. We just simply don’t know what new features it will add, but I’m convinced it likely will include new features and improvements. Apple definitely seems to be trying to roll out as much as quickly as possible, probably trying to also make it easier to develop iOS 19 if the rumors of iOS 18 slowing down iOS 19 development are true. I’m guessing in that case they would want to get as many features out as quickly as possible that way they can dedicate more resources towards 19. You are not imagining it. Mark Gurman reported about a month ago that some stuff originally slated for 18.4 might be pushed up. We’ll see.
Yeah, I just checked and nothing OTA for me either. It’s possible a beta could drop later today, but I don’t think it’s very likely. Probably a Monday beta drop. 👍🏻
