There is more than enough to do under the hood of iOS 18 and i'm definitely not talking about "AI"...Some polishing is also good!
About custom Genmoji.
I āve got a picture of myself and one of a cousin that popped up.
Impossible to add another person or delete the cousin or even to choose another photo for myself.
Is this a bug ? Has it been fixed with todayās release ?
It definitely does not work for me. Only two photos to choose from , canāt add better one. And for the second person itās impossible to delete it and add a new person. On 18.2, you enter your name in the Genmoji creation bar. A āChooseā option appears below that which opens up your people gallery. Under your picture there, select āEditā. On the next screen select āChoose Other Photoā¦ā at the bottom and pick another picture of yourself
Maybe with having to release the additional RC beta for iOS 18.2, maybe they didnāt have time to finish new features for 18.3. I wouldnāt be shocked if we see some more new changes in future 18.3 betas, but probably in January because I donāt know if theyāre going to release any more betas this month with the holidays.Itās hitting us hard here at the Apple compound. After all this anticipation, Apple does this to us?

Iām guessing weāll see some features pop up in future 18.3 betas. Perhaps they had to delay some of the planned iOS 18.3 beta features due to the longer than planned rollout of 18.2 with an additional RC beta required.I thought given the roadmap of AI for 18.1, 18.2 & 18.4
18.3 might be the update that focuses on iOS features finally.
But worse, there's nothing lol

I am surprised though that it doesnāt seem like a whole lot has changed. I guess Zollo is saying that likely some of the back-end for some of the AI features has been improved and changed with 18.3. Heās noted differences in the results heās getting from some of these AI features in 18.3.
This release is probably about polishing and bug fixing. No new features probably
are they going to try sneak 18.2.1 right before christmas? It's not even been a week so I'd say doubtful
18.4 is supposed to release in April, so doubtful it would start that early. Siri onscreen awareness stuff and additional languages for Apple Intelligence are supposed to be the headliners, so it might be a longer beta cycle, but I don't expect it to start until February.I suspect 18.4 will release as a beta (for AI devices) in parallell to 18.3 beta sometime in january

Hereās to hoping there are some new changes coming in a future 18.3 beta. Otherwise, this will be a very boring wait for 18.4.![]()
Apple already said April is the big language update, so unless they are holding that for 18.5, 18.4 is April. Edit: 17.5 was mid-May, so we are going to break some patterns one way or another.Earlier this year 17.3 was released on January 22 and the first beta of iOS 17.4 was released on January 25. I would expect similar timing for the corresponding iOS 18 releases. The timing usually allows a X.4 release to accompany a March hardware release. So expect 18.4 sometime in late March.
Yes! I think Apple is due a beta cycle smoothing things out in iOS 18. No new features means that iOS 18 in general can get better for everyone. Don't see how that is a bad thing at all.Itās been a pretty exciting beta cycle for iOS 18 so far, so taking a breather and letting Apple work out some of the kinks is not the worst thing. 18.4 should be very exciting.

Apple Intelligence now features Image Playground, Genmoji, and more
The release of iOS 18.2, iPadOS 18.2, and macOS Sequoia 15.2 introduce new Apple Intelligence features.www.apple.com
"Additional languages, including Chinese, English (India), English (Singapore), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Spanish, and Vietnamese will be coming throughout the year, with an initial set arriving in a software update in April."
Donāt get me wrong, Iām not too upset, but it is kind of disappointing after such a long wait for iOS 18.3 betas. Even some minor feature improvements or changes would be great. But the first beta has practically nothing changed at all from 18.2. Hopefully future 18.3 betas will provide some āminorā improvements like maybe some new Control Center controls, some new Siri Shortcuts actions, new Settings options, etc. I have no problems with Apple focusing on bug fixes (even though Iām not really running into any), but it would be nice if they can also make at least some minor tweaks/improvements as well. Another month of essentially iOS 18.2 would be kind of boringā¦Yes! I think Apple is due a beta cycle smoothing things out in iOS 18.
