iOS 18 Speculation Thread

If (big if, I have no proof) they’re the same as the regular betas except for Apple Intelligence, then my bet’s on weekly 18.0 betas starting tomorrow as well as 18.1 Beta 2.

It’s awkward because safari, music and other apps are the same builds, on the other hand there are some new features like the phone voice recording and the reverted emojis picker design that was introduced and then ditched in the iOS 18.0 betas.

I’d say it’s the same for the most parts, but there’s also some changes. 🤷

I’d say 18.0 is on weekly, as usually are by this point.

18.1 beta 2 is up in the air, as not normally. It may be this week, may not be. As it’s just for Apple Intelligence, they don’t need to be as often, as it depends on if they need to fix any bugs relating to Apple Intelligence from B1, or if they want to bring some of the other Apple Intelligence features to the beta.

So, people putting their hope/faith/confidence/happiness in 18.1 b2 coming this week, need to rein in their feels.

Beta 6 is clearly the favorite one which will be released today I think.

Beta 2 of 18.1 most likely tomorrow

I’m sure we’re getting beta 6 today.

Those of you with 18.1 beta are in a tricky spot cause you’ll have to wait for 18.1 public release to get off the beta wagon and that won’t be for a while it looks like. Hope you get beta today too.

I still think both the 18.0 beta 6 and 18.1 beta 2 will be released today. I was expecting 18.0 to already be weekly, but we know something caused Apple to pull the 18.1 installers from their site, delay the beta 2 another week making conjecture a lot more speculative. Will they sync the OS's or allow other devices to run a common OS version with AI or not? Or continue as is with two beta cycles for different hardware criteria? Stay tuned. :cool:

I hope you're right @Realityck, because you've been 2 weeks without any update, something heavy becomes, hoping that some bugs are fixed that are not critical, but somewhat annoying.
