iOS 26 Beta 1 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

Lucky. Mine exits immediately. 16PM, also iPad M4 OLED. Maybe it’s my AppleTV which I didn’t put a beta on?
I’m sure there was a more substantial reason for releasing this update so soon; I’m really hoping, though, that this addresses one particular bug that annoys me (not a showstopper): the clock freezing while the phone is in Standby mode. Those brief AM-heart attacks weren’t fun 😂
Apple’s crack marketing team realizing the sentiment around iOS 26 is bad so they release an arbitrary “update” and now everyone’s gaslit themselves on Twitter into thinking the “glass effect has been fixed”.
Never mind… didn’t know about the new “Menu Bar”… While in an app, swipe down from the top to expose the menu bar which has options…
This works for iPadOS but in iOS you have to hit the REPLY button at the bottom of the screen to expose them menus that includes the print option.. (personally I think that is a dumb place for it since there is room for the “3 dots” icon down there to expose a menu…

The new build feels a bit less laggy for me as well. Not super fluid either tho, but better than the original release.
I installed revised iOS 26 on my iPhone 15 pro max and… some animations works smoothly than before, icon drops animation when unlock very smooth now, notifications scrolling the same as app drawer scrolling (not too much smooth, but better)
Odd the way they listed it as just “iOS 26” on the Ipswich downloads page…

The one bug I have, which is a broken power button on the remote, is still present on the new build.
Two bugs not fixed in the new build:
Power button on the remote doesn’t work for me.
Battery widget is bright white in dark mode.

I updated from 18.5 to the new build after reverting to 18.5 from the original and I can definitely tell that the new build has significantly fewer stutters, frame drops and heat. It was cooler than the original build was, even when charging.
I'll give it a few days to see how it goes. Likely still going through indexing and other background tasks.

I'm still on 18.5 but I'm tempted to jump aboard the beta train with this revised beta. Seems like it's slightly more stable than the original build.
