It was likely removed because of optimization issues; it’ll likely come back by the end of the cycle. Perhaps let’s not make assumptions when there are still 5 betas left.
The thing is that it wasn’t removed, it has been toned down for readability reasons as some people had issues and surely it won’t come back to beta 1 levels.

Personally I miss it, at least we got this new cool floating tab bars and search buttons that are not on the top of the screen

It looks like the Files app now has a new interface. Also battery life seems better now.

The issue is they shouldn’t have to listen to feedback they should have designed this years ago and made sure it was what we will get and they should tell us what we need not the other way round. Look at the photos up etc they keep walking back on stuff, something is very wrong with the software team. They used to be ahead of the game. There are twitter users making better liquid glass renders and icons etc. Apple is disappointing, this beta is making iOS 26 look more and more like iOS 18 and we don’t even have exciting new features like split screen multitasking. What have the team been working on for years. The whole main point of iOS 26 was liquid glass and that has been changing between betas for the worse. It isn’t even liquid glass anymore

I’m getting more lag on this beta than I did after installing beta 2, what I don’t get is shouldn’t the main design language been done years ago when they started working on this; why wait until the beta cycle to change how liquid it is. That should of been in house months ago

That’s what betas are for so they get feedback not just bug reports

It's weird. In some places things are dialed way back, such as the controls in Maps, whereas in other apps like Music, the frostiness is less drastic. I'd like to think there's some logic to it — like they don't want small controls to get lost on the business of a map view, but people know where to find the tab bar, so it can be more transparent — but I'm just not seeing the consistency. I'm afraid they're in the middle of dialing back transparency and we'll see more in future builds.

I get 3D parallax effect again on my lock screen using the photo rotation background. Sweet!

years ago? Who knows when they started work on this. Maybe they cobbled it together in a few weeks.

When restoring do you get your saved wallpapers back? Have you tried erasing all of them?
yes. nothing works

My workaround, I look away from the phone while I tap the screen to change wallpaper, it says unlock to edit then brings up passcode screen, then it works. but if the phone is unlocked and I try, nothing happens. I've reported this in feedback since beta 1 revision. it was fine for beta 1 OG
