Ok after 24 hours of usage, beta 7 is worse than 6. That’s not to say it’s garbage, but buggier. Less glass, some visual glitches in dark mode, and overall a small step back. We have beta 8 next week, then an RC, then public release. It could also be RC next week and we hold onto it for a few weeks until public release.

For me, beta 7 is even better than 6! Super smooth and haven’t really run into any bugs.

To be completely honest, I haven't noticed much of a difference between DP6 and DP7. Both are solid and working well for me.

Seemed to be working fine in my car on my random Chinese dash cam CarPlay screen this morning although I didn't actually interact with it but connected and looked like it was working as expected.
I pulled the trigger. CarPlay works great on our 2020 Rouge. New interface and widgets are nice.

Anyone having connection issues? Now in B7 when I screen share in FaceTime it not only makes my Mac ultra buggy and slow, but the internet connection becomes unstable

Same here, very smooth but I have an iPhone 13 not a later model. From what I’ve been reading it looks like the 16’s have more issues than the older phones.

I updated my 16 Pro from 18.6.1 yesterday and I can’t believe how much faster it feels and how fluid the whole software is across the board.

Only issue I’ve noticed is that there are some random minor visual flickers here and there.

I’m not spotting any major problems with this new beta, but the iPhone tends to get a bit hot during the first few charges after the update. I’m guessing that’s just the indexing process kicking in. It’s a common occurrence with every update and usually lasts for a day or two.

I don't mind it... I find both Beta 6 and 7 similar and responsive. Obviously, there's still some lag, and I'm studying it in my spare time. The thing I can't fix is the giant buttons for blind people when the alarm goes off. Also, with iOS 18, when you looked at your iPhone, the alarm volume would go down. I think it's going to be like that, unfortunately.

Those giant alarm buttons and that oversized + menu in Messages are hideous. Hopefully they downsize both at some point before release.

Can you test the following?

Swipe down the notification center.
Swipe up.
Swipe down the notification center.

…..
Repeat for 5-10 times.

My 15 Pro Max gets really hot doing this.

The new Alarm and Timer buttons are a shock the first time you see them.

I don't mind the size, but I wish they'd highlight the "off" and "stop" buttons rather than the "snooze" and "repeat" ones.

Over 24 hours on public beta 4 with my 16 Pro.

A much better experience than I was expecting! Battery drain has settled down today and it’s very close to 18.6.1, still early days.

Performance, speed & smoothness have really surprised me. Superb!

Love the new design & customisation and the Liquid Glass visual effects are stunning.

Predictive text is also an improvement over iOS 18.

Hello all in a dilemma,
from what I can see online and on the forums here iOS 26 is now pretty much in it’s final stage and stable enough for daily use .
However my problem is that if I update my iPhone 16 pro max I won’t be able to go back as don’t have a computer to use for that .
So what I am wondering is it worth updating now or wait till after public release? My fear is also the liquid glass look and I am not sure 100 percent yet if I like it all as there are some bits that look better in my opinion.
Any advice be appreciated
thanks

This is the first beta I’ve jumped on (DB7) and I was pretty hesitant after reading the comments.

Just like most, I’m noticing small visual hiccups when swiping screens and in and out of apps.

Only been 12 hours, so still getting warm and battery drain is faster than 18.6.1. Other than that, pretty smooth.

As long as CarPlay works on this beta and the next, I’ll ride it out. Still have to test.

Thoughts on liquid glass compared to 18?
Some elements look amazing but then I see the transparent elements and it looks awful
