Highlighting text in a PDF correctly displays the text action menu (Copy, Select All, Highlight, etc) in both Quick Look and the new Preview app. For years if you highlighted text in a PDF no menu appeared either immediately or when tapping the highlighted text.
Wow, just tried it and it works! Not being able to copy text from a pdf has frustrated me to no end.

Sending screen shots to people also on iPhones are complaining they aren’t showing up.

They show up as an image that they have to click on cause it’s HEIC. On my end it looks normal. Changing my settings to most compatible, they show up on other peoples messages just fine. Only when I have it set to hdr is when it’s weird.

Using the Action Menu to send photos (not Airdrop) is showing some odd info/alert popups.
Occurs if I use non-Apple apps as the method of send. This function is supposed to run in the background once sent and it doesn’t.

I know that Amazon doesn’t have an official dark mode icon, but it’s always dimmed a bit in dark mode until now… with Beta 7 it doesn’t seem to dim at all for some reason.

Beta 7 battery life check-in.

15PM with 87% capacity after 388 cycles.

I was getting stellar battery life on iOS 18.6.1: nearly 1 hour of active use per 10% battery drain, or about 9 1/2 hours total.

Installed DB7 Monday when it released. Didn't bother looking at battery life for the first two days.

So far today: 3.5 hours screen active time, depleted 50% of battery charge, which extrapolates to 7 hours total. (with adaptive power turned on, btw)

This includes tracking a 30-minute bike ride in the workouts app. Prior to the ride, the ratio of active use per hour of battery depletion was a bit higher.

So, battery life okay but not great, even considering my phone is 2 years old.

But we're still in beta. In the past, my iPhones' battery performance improve an hour or so per full charge between the mid-August beta and the public release of the next big iOS version about 4 weeks later. I expect that'll be the same for iOS 26. If I can get 8.5 hours on a full charge I'll be happy, given my phone's age.

But this year it doesn't really matter for me. I'm gonna buy a 17P or PM as soon as they're available to order.
I’m using a 15 Pro Max on DB7 and at the same battery health level. I don’t think the 15 Pro Max deserves to be called “given its age” because it’s still quite new.

Has anyone had issues with their alarms being turned off or not working at all? I know someone on an earlier beta had issues but not sure about now.

Yes same issue here, happened twice on my 14 PM. After checking the alarm was switched on in the settings, I noticed that the Lock Screen widget still showed the alarm as off. The issue randomly disappeared today (i.e. this morning the alarm worked).

I also noticed that I had to enter the SIM pincode when I first checked the phone after waking up, happened twice so far.

Strange thing is, both bugs didn't start immediately after installing the last PB.

Anyone else getting stuttering in YouTube? Both in the app and on Safari. Happening on iPad and iPhone but not on Mac.

I‘m having the „problem“ that „voice control“ seems to be active in the background all the time (blue symbol, control Center shows it but not which app is behind it). And I fail to deactivate it.

Everything that sounds like it in „accessibility settings“ I deactivated. No change. Any hints? Thx.

Other than hat - same as for everyone: Beta a little rougher than the before

My M4 iPad’s failed spectacular
refuses to charge or enter DFU but I can get it to back up
USB C and magic keyboard connector won’t charge the device

Genius said could be B7 causing it

Also randomly goes to the Apple logo

Was fine since installing Mon then yesterday boom

Has anyone else been reporting issues with focus modes not turning off when they are meant to? I'm currently on Public Beta 4 and my first report was back in May!

For me, RE CarPlay, I’m able to reply to people in the Messages app via Siri, but if I manually tap the screen on a contact to send them a message, the CarPlay “lock screen” sort of resprings or relaunches. Then my headset can no longer see my iPhone as being connected. If I unplug, turn off my car, open the door, close the door and start the car, I can then reconnect my phone. But I can repeat that and it will always happen for me. It’s a 2018 Impala, too, so it won’t be getting any more updates as far as the head unit goes.

Also, to the person that said where Recently Added should be, I do not see that..

Anyone else notice how laughably inaccurate the time remaining for charging is in the battery section? It told me today it was an hour and a half to get to a 100%. My charger did it in like 25 minutes lol.

Is it me, or has the search function in the Calendar app been totally borked in iOS 26?

Searching never shows me old calendar entries.

EDIT: thanks to Reddit, I found a fix!

Settings > Search> scroll down to Calendar> toggle “show content in search” off and back on again.

On the Mac and iPad the design looks much better for me. But it is not thaaaat bad even if I will miss the previous design.

Performance is pretty good. Much better than with iOS 18 mostly. Since I’ve found a good VPN I also have an excellent battery life.
