I'm torn but I still think we are at two weeks between beta 1 and 2. My better guess would be either a revised beta 1 or a released beta 1 just for the affected devices that were pulled last week.

I just remembered, even though tomorrow is a federal holiday, they released a beta on Columbus Day. Maybe there will be something tomorrow.

And iOS 18.2 beta 3 was released on Veterans Day last year.

The only reason I don’t think we’re on a two week cycle is that we’ve already had a public beta released.

Ya I don't know, I am really torn on where they could go this week. 18.2 public beta 1 was Nov 7 with 18.2 dev beta 1 being Oct 23rd. So you may be on to something here. Guess we'll see in roughly an hour.

And the next developer beta after that was released 4 days later on Veterans Day. It turns out tomorrow will be 4 days after the first public beta, and Veterans Day. Will history repeat itself?

True. There wasn’t a new build for these devices, right?
Would speak for this week - yes, wishful thinking included.

God, how many holidays are there in the US? Somehow it's every few weeks
Some pointless trivia:
  • There are eleven federally observed holidays in the US.
  • The most recent federal holiday added to the calendar was "Juneteenth" which celebrates the end of slavery, and officially became an observed holiday in 2021.
  • Two months have two holidays (January and November) whereas three months have no holidays (March, April and August).

I just remembered, even though tomorrow is a federal holiday, they released a beta on Columbus Day. Maybe there will be something tomorrow. ...
Many US corporations don't exactly feel much obligation to honor federal holidays. It's particularly bad if you happen to work in retail in some capacity; you likely never get holidays off, as those are prime shopping days. I'm fortunate enough to have a desk job, where my employer grants me an unusually generous ten holidays -- they still haven't deigned to address Juneteenth -- but six of those are in the form of "floating" holidays, which leaves it up to my discretion to work on the associated holidays and take the day off on another day that suits me, such as the Friday after Thanksgiving.

Thus, from my point of view, Apple employees working on a holiday isn't particularly surprising; I wouldn't count tomorrow's holiday as any kind of stumbling block to the release schedule.

(But then, it took me so long to write this up, that it now appears to be moot...)

TBH, Veteran's Day is more of a holiday than Columbus Day. Yeah, both are "federal holidays", but some are more meaningful than others, IMO.

C'mon, Timmy, give us a new beta.
