no because then they'd need to have engineers on standby over the weekend in case of any critical, device-breaking bugs.

Didn’t they release an updated version of iOS 26 B1 on a Friday.

Edit: Beta came out June 9th and on the 13th there was an updated release.

Beta 4 running very smoothly for me, apart from Google News which scrolls very, very jerkily.
Anyone else
And a few instances of 'Glass' being unreadable as in screenshot from Mail
This will be reported to Apple

I would say next week at this point. I guess it’s okay to get 18.6 out of the door and then focus on 26.

Let’s see if it will be a new build.

I still feel that PB1 may drop today w/18.6 next week. That way it clears the last of iOS 18 and full focus on OS 26 in August.

The last time the first public beta was released on the same week as the developer beta(not revised, but full version change) was during iOS 14 where the dev beta was released on a Tuesday(July 7) and the public beta on that Thursday.

Prediction/Hope: Maybe this year will be a repeat of that. Especially with the rumour mill last week claiming public beta would be released 'around' the 23rd/

Most probable reality: Public beta on 29th (or even 28th)
