Why do you need to do a backup before update? If anything goes wrong previous night backup should suffice. Or am I missing something.
I always do. In this case, I didn’t charge my phone overnight, so the latest backup was from 2 nights prior.

It’s a generally recommended best practice, in case something goes wrong during installation (which very well may happen considering the well documented history of Apple Devices) and doesn’t take much time relative to the installation anyway (as previously stated; about 15 minutes for an incremental backup)

in this scenario I can be sure I won’t lose anything that happened in more recent history, perhaps an important screenshot from earlier in the morning, etc,

This is even presuming if I had a backup from the night before. In many cases I do not because I can, and do, go for weeks without performing a backup. But I generally make sure I am completing one before engaging in any high risk activity, in real life or digitally, and I try to make sure I complete one at least once a month.

Tomorrows Beta will see the most rounded/stable beta yet... I think this will be the biggest jump as far as performance until RC build
I just hope I get my Pro-Motion back in the iPhone. That’s the only real complaint I had about this beta everything worked relatively well. And no complaints and all about iPadOS,that one is quite a large update.

Beta 4 has been running very smoothly for me overall, with only a handful of minor visual glitches that pop up occasionally. 👍🏻. I’m thinking beta 5 will begin to incorporate more fixes, and will be more stable overall. 👍🏻

iOS/iPadOS have been very stable since Beta 2. Most of the issues are on macOS. Which most of those are becoming fixable as they all seem to be cache or container issues, likely due to macOS being rewritten as Apple claimed.

It's possible maybe they moved to a Tuesday release cycle to match up with the upcoming iPhone event?

👍🏼. Yeah that’s what we were thinking. (The handful of others) Normally things shift to Tuesdays when we go weekly and then final release will be a Monday.

But I’ll only be able to download it today if I’ve taken a day off for it 🥴🤣🤯

Agree. Nothing show stopping but the glitches and especially the battery drain have been rough. A new beta will be welcomed with open arms lol.
Beta 4 is overall solid but for sure it needs more polish. That’s why it’s the beta 4 instead of beta 8 I guess :)
Let’s see how the beta 5 will perform and what kind of changes they made to the Liquid Glass.
