Not sure what's going on, but my Visited Places list hasn't updated since July 26th. I installed the latest beta and not doing anything different from before. Anyone else?

In Apple Maps on CarPlay, you have very clear directions at the top right, but the second lower set of directions they've changed the background to light grey, so you've got white text on light grey and it's much much harder to read.

Anyone experiencing this problem?

Have to disagree on this one…it’s “softer” nature clarifies its position I. the directions structure (secondary versus the next step).

…and your picture to me only shows that it IS clear IMHO…but that’s me. Could it be the way you (or others) see greys and whites? It’s crystal clear and easy to read for me.

Mine is literally showing every visit…at least ones I would think that matter. There was a lot for me recently since I was traveling extensively through July, but every spot is there.

I don't know what happened. I've been leaving the house since July 26th, but I haven't seen a single update since then.

Just a note on railroad crossing as I know some people have complained about the "notifcation" that one is upcoming.

As I have been driving through TX this week, particularly in Houston, I was in an area with a lot of freight train crossings.

I noticed that Maps will NOT announce every one and simply state, "multiple railroad crossings ahead" as well as integrate them into the directions along with the usual stop signs and traffic lights, like, "Cross the railroad tracks and make the next right"....(maybe not exactly that, but something like that).

Now...I don;t live or normally drive near any railroad crossings, but considering the lack of actual gates or warnings with the VAST majority of crossings in the US, I think the notification is a good thing. I also drive with directions "muted" for the most part and only have Maps speak to me when there is an alert notification...so...there's always that.

On Maps in full screen in CarPlay we can now have a smaller next manoeuvre box, just showing the direction to take, without a description. I have just noticed it today with the latest beta, as for me it defaulted to this smaller bubble. To switch between the normal (big) and compact views, just click on it:

Been that way for a couple of years…it was annoying when first launched since it would default to the smaller info box and no one knew to just tap it.

I wish Apple Maps could catch up with the US worldwide… Google Maps is still the one to use outside the US…

I would say everywhere Apple has their own data is on par or nearly the same as the experience as the USA…if not better due to having LookAround countrywide in nearly every country added since Canada.

Have found Apple Transit directions better in every country I’ve visited…even Japan which is highly complex and Google seems to have an edge in other directions.

Apple is definitely better in China.

Apple POI data still needs to catch up everywhere…but even in the USA.

The crappy thing is that it doesn’t always display that second box. Might have something to do with the distance you’re traveling before it shows? I always want to see 1) the next turn/what side of the street my destination is on and 2) what exit number Im taking if on a highway.

I was out driving my car this week and Maps gave me the direction prompts too late, anyone else having noticed this behavior?

I've noticed favorites are on top of the list instead of recents. Never checked to see if there's an option to change.

And I would REALLY appreciate an auto pause feature. Hey. The car is parked. How about not giving me turn signal alerts on phone and watch.

Here's a weird one -- in town when I am traveling east on this highway (IL 13) it announces the crossing when I am all most on top of it, but when I am traveling west it give me half a mile notification. I have noticed this on other roads, but not committed the locations to memory.

Seems like it….i would go and check every setting in Privacy & Security > Location Services to make sure you don’t have anything blocked…particularly under Maps.

Yep. That's all enabled. I can't believe I haven't had a single update since the end of July. Man, this is unbelievably disappointing.
