iOS 27 Beta 3 ― Bug Fixes, Changes, and Improvements

If you already have it, then why bother?

That’s only recommended as a troubleshooting measure if you’re having any issues. And this still being an early beta, chances are your issue might get resolved in a future update anyway.

In general, yes. But RCS works on my iPad, which is why I assume it should work the same on my iPhone Air on WiFi only. However, to your point, my iPad does have a cellular data plan, so maybe that's why it works.

Ome thing I noticed last week is Siri is now says turning directions twice occasionally ("turn left, turn left"). It just started in beta 3 and it might be related to me changing the Pace/Expressivity sliders one to the right. I'm going to set them back to default and keep testing, but reported it.
 
Running this as PB1 on my 13 mini and, compared to iOS 26, feels like taking off a supremely tight shoe. It's genuinely impressive that, up to iOS 26.5.2, I was still having that bug where, on occasion, my homescreen icons wouldn't even load after unlocking, and the homescreen wallpaper would show. That, and Photos was constantly regenerating its menus under "Collections" and fading in slowly. Changing and modifying wallpapers no longer does a self-DDoS on my phone, too, and RAM management is back to actually working properly.

Considering that Apple ran with increasing QoL and UX as their main headline during WWDC, I felt confident that even dev beta 1 of iOS 27 would be leagues ahead of whatever was happening on iOS 26. I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of effort went towards the foundation of iOS 27 during the point releases of iOS 26.

It doesn’t happen all the time but sometimes when I unlock my phone I don’t get any animation. No icons flying in.

I believe this also happened on iOS 26.0 and it was resolved in 26.1. Hopefully it doesn’t take that long again.

I’m excited to see further optimizations.

Also, sometimes the controls in photos stay dark when returning to the bottom of the photo library.
 
Remove from playlist looks disabled, even if it’s not.

Well, now I have lost the search function in my iPhone Settings too. I wonder if it has something to do with Siri AI, which I used yesterday for one day only (while in Switzerland) and for the first time after installing DB3. Before this rotation of Siri generations (iOS 26 Siri > Siri AI > iOS 26 Siri) the search worked fine with the same DB3.
 
Hopefully in beta 4 they fix the missing icons in Spotlight search. It does a good job of having my most recent apps I use so I can just tap it when I swipe down, but so far any app that's updated doesn't have an icon.
 
After upgrading from iOS 26 on an iPhone 16 pro max I can’t get cellular to remain active for more than 2 mins. I get no service across all sims. WiFi works. I’ve reset network settings, turned off connectivity assist, and RCS. Ee and Vodafone uk. Any ideas?

Assuming you are actually referring to iOS 27?

If so, report it.
 
Safari is absolutely annoying. Anytime I change app and return to safari, the page where I was will ALWAYS reload and any other opened on any another tab. Horrible and this is not of this beta only.

I don’t know if it is the same across the pond, but I had to turn 5GSA off on my phone as I was getting delayed messages and basically seemed like it was dropping connection while locked. Not the same as you but turning that off has fixed my cellular issues.
