They are doing the indexing with 26.6, once you arrive on 27 the indexing is already done
Yes but each time you install new 27 build, indexing starts over.

So the 26.6 could potentially be good just for the first time you move to 27, then each subsequent update will trigger the reindexing again.

Ehm how do you know? That’s just “trust me bro” at this point.
This might be true due to the beta phase but you most likely won’t run into such a heavy indexing again with further and smaller updates.

I meant based on what we have been seeing now, during the beta. I didn’t say it will for sure be like this afterwards.

However, for all of the previous releases, even if stable, indexing is happening after each update (usually, on macOS I didn’t see indexing happening moving from Beta 3 to Beta 4, which is positive).

If they manage to make it short and quick, okay. If it’s 1-2 weeks after each update, doesn’t feel nice.

Especially for users who don’t benefit from it.

Has anyone been able to test CarPlay yet? I started having disconnects last beta, too.

Miles better (pun intended 😉) for me in this beta. Just finished a 1h 40min drive with a wired CarPlay (Renault). No issues, whereas in previous betas it would repeatedly cut off. Will do the same trip in the opposite direction tonight and will report back if anything.

It’s still a beta 🙂

AutoCorrect keeps going out to lunch on me in messaging apps. Completely stops fixing things such as punctuation in contractions or misspelled words.

I've had this through the whole iOS 26.x branch and it's still not fixed in the iOS 27 betas. Filed the bug report for iOS 26, will file a new one for iOS 27.

I've tried everything, reset the keyboard setting, deleted all custom text replacements, toggled all possible settings, to no avail.

Having this problem too. Are you using multi-language keyboard too?

If you never went into the settings, you’d never even know it was indexing. It’s really not a big deal at all. Phone runs perfectly fine.

Y'know what I haven't noticed until iOS 27? Why the hell doesn't the contact poster match the contact's avatar by default? I go through the trouble of choosing emojis and background colors or whatever just for that to go unused when they call?

It crashed on me three times during the hour long drive this morning.
I also had CarPlay crash on me this morning (2025 Subaru Outback.) I had them often enough on B1 and B2 that I considered going back to iOS 26 but B3 seemed to reduce them for me. So I'm not thrilled that I've already had a couple on B4.

What do you mean by a “crash”, a total loss of CarPlay connection or a specific app crashing?
Everything Carplay related shut down, as if the phone didn't exist. After about two minutes, Carplay would start back up. This was on wireless.

Maybe I never noticed it, but now when I play a video on mute that I recorded, Siri AI puts captions automatically. I have to turn it off each time. Annoying. I haven't looked on where to turn it off permanently.
